I work at a surf shop, but i find it extremely boring. Its mind numbing, its repetitive and i'm not using my beautiful brain Laughing I used to go to uni, but suffered from depression during that moment, i was smoking a shit load of bongs and (due to the nature of psychology) i found myself become over psychoanalytical of people, trying to penetrate there minds and figure them out, jumping to conclusions about what they're experiencing, if its right or wrong, how can i help them, etc. Funnily enough, deep within, i was struggling, so i left uni to go and venture into the realms of spirituality, finding a deeper meaning to life, what lies within and becoming at peace with my ego, my jungian shadow.

So now, i'm at a point where i'm thinking about what i want to do, where i want to go… I am still exploring spirituality and i do feel that i will know what i want to do in time which takes patience as well as when i deeply know who i am. But I'm looking for a bit of inspiration in what it is you guys do for a living to see if any of it tickles my fancy.

Would be interested in hearing, Smile Thanks for reading and i hope this can help others find inspiration too!

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Perhaps you might want to take a look into Qi Gong or energy cultivation. I'm sure as a surfer, you could probably find some overlap.

^^ Sounds awesome. and I am jealous! I would love to surf, no waves here though :/

And, forgive me if i'm out of bounds, this may sound like blasphemy, but as a person who used to smoke weed 24/7 for years and years up until just recently, I can say that I am much happier now that I stopped smoking weed 24/7. I don't know the frequency of your use, and I notice you said "was" so maybe you have already tried this, but if depression and boredom are really numbing your mind, (they were me.. everyday was exactly the same.. i needed psychedelics just to add color to my life, even though i was surrounded day in and day out by beauty.. ) I would say cut the weed out of the deal and try some clarity with your breathing. It really is awesome, and the time spent BEING yourself instead of trying to be high enough to deal with yourself, is a great step in figuring out what you want to do with your life.

I still love weed and want to grow it when/if it becomes legal here, but I feel like it's a powerful medicine, and the way I was using it as much as possible was not very smart. Maybe you are not like me at all and i am just talking outta my butt, tho Razz

If you want to use your brain, learn languages. Just one can open a whole new world to you on many levels.

I teach people how to dive. I love it.

I would trade you jobs in a second, to be able to hang out selling surfboards. Just the people alone are interesting. I often have met people who travel all over the world just hanging out in surf shops telling stories about bali etc. Beats doing psuedo-gardening(landscaping)..at least I think it would. To each they're own. There are very few things in this world I love as much I do the ocean and surfing.

Im sure you make less money then you would at many other jobs, but it's a lifestyle trade off I guess. If you can love your life and what you do then you have something many never have.

I would like to teach skimboard and surf lessons, and then after teach yoga on the beach. That would be a perfect life. Simple.
Long live the unwoke.

I built Legos as a kid, im good with my hands and numbers, from carpentry to welding. A automotive/motorcycle Technician is my fancy. I love my toys! "If it goes fast enough to hurt you, then it must be fun!" I play in the dirt mostly. But hey, it makes me happy!

Best wishes!!

I'm a journalist, and while I love it, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone Thumbs up
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

I am also in this situation. I am not satisfied at all with my job, so I decided to take up some new hobbies that always COULD (although its unlikely ) become a way of life. I'm getting into producing music and its helping me feel more fulfilled even though its not my job. Do something creative to reward yourself for your work Smile
