Hi there!

Now that I'm a full member (Big grin thanks guys) I can post here!
I have a couple of suggestions about the chatrooms, nothing really important...
- Would it be possible to have the "[1] Chat" only when somebody talks. Right now, it also says [1] for joins and quits.
- Would it be possible to use the Tab key to "complete" the nickname of people? Like on IRC.
example: someone hits the keys d i m then tab key, and dim turns to DiMoiTou.
(Tab key is the key above the padlock)

That's all folks Smile
Do you guys agree/disagree on these suggestions?

Cheers!

You can just click on someone's username and it will place it in the text field

That's good to know, thanks. Since I'm a quick typer, for most nicknames, typing it entirely would be faster than moving my hand over to my mouse and clicking on the nickname Big grin
Also, I don't know if there are any visually impaired people in the chatroom, but I think they would appreciate the nick completion feature. I used to know someone with very bad sight, and he never used his mouse (sounds impossible, right? Pleased) He did everything with keyboard shortcuts.

By the way, is there a thread or page that explains all the features of the chatroom? I know there is the wiki page.. but not everything is listed in there (like the feature you taught me, for instance).

Simply being too lazy to use the mouse is not a good reason to request that the traveler take time out of his day to write code to implement this feature. Just sayin Smile

There are actually quite a few members with a little bit more than difficult to type out names.

Isaac: Thanks. That gets me to the same page I found on the wiki, but as I said, not all the functions are listed there, like:
- clicking next to the textbox to change nickname and text color.
- clicking on a nickname to insert it in the textbox.
- and others I don't know of.
For instance, I have seen some multicolor text but I have no idea how to do that.
Also, the features of Kikker are not listed.

anrchy: First of all, it most certainly was not a request. Why is there a "Suggestions" section if not to make suggestions?
I'm thinking in terms of improvement, convenience and rapidity/efficiency, certainly not laziness. And anyway, drug users are famous for being lazy, so the chatroom should reflect that, right? Laughing
This nick completion feature is a classic in chatrooms, I doubt I'm the first one missing this feature. All IRC users know this feature.
Using the mouse while chatting with the keyboard is just counterproductive IMHO, unless one types on his keyboard with only one hand, which I don't. Do you?
Besides, one could argue that clicking on the nickname with the mouse is just being too lazy to write the nickname... In fact, anything automatic is just being too lazy to use its manual counterpart? Confused
Why copy-paste when you can re-type everything? Okay okay, I'm exaggerating. Embarrased

Anyway, nevermind my suggestion...I thought it was a good idea, maybe I was wrong.

See you soon in the hyperspace room!

A list kikkers commands is available by typing "kikker help" in the chat. Thumbs up

P.S. - The rainbow text is just a gimmick not a chat feature

I'd prefer chat not indicate 3 unread messages when someone joins the chat. (1 for each room, I guess is what's happeneing)
