Namaste divine lightbeings <3 I recently sat my 6th (or so) ceremony and was once again bowled over by the potency of music in guiding the experience.

I drank smaller amounts of aya as I wanted to be coherent enough to play music (holding guardian space as its called) and I still definitely felt a LOT of powerful medicine coursing through me. This medicine I drank was made with the intention of it being Yogic Medicine, not Daime or Aya as many of the traditional recipes end up being, and it certainly absorbed the devotee vibes of the fellas who brewed it <3

Anywho, my first education this evening was to learn WHEN to sing the Purging Icaro I learned , its a Quechua mantra and when I sang it , right afterwards one of our participants started purging BIG time! I felt a lil bad from that but transcended that and honored the lesson.

The only times I received visuals during this low dose experience were when a flute was played, I noticed the flute sounds just activate my entheogenic visions like no other.

I have seen and heard several individuals talking about how the music has guided them through their trips, affecting the content and character of the visions. I would LOVE to hear any anecdotes about the power of Icaros and Song in experience with Mama Aya <3

Here is me singing a traditional Quechua Icaro called Ayahuasca Takimuyki , slightly adapted from the Shimshai version , enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/g...tree/ayahuasca-takimuyki

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

I often listen to recordings of icaros sung by shamans I've worked with in Peru during home mushroom experiences. When I do this, the character of the mushroom trip is immediately enhanced by the presence of the spirits associated with the plant icaros. For example, as I've mentioned elsewhere, when I play icaros invoking ayahuasca itself, the mushroom energy gives way to the more ancient, heavy feeling of being in the presence of aya.

In general, I wholeheartedly agree that music can play a huge role in guiding a psychedelic ritual (or any ritual, for that matter). This is doubly true of icaros or other songs born out of a specific intention to invoke spirits, heal, et cetera.

On a related note, I remember one of the shamans I worked with in Peru telling me that he had also worked with mushroom curanderos in Mexico. He said that he could sing an ayahuasca icaro in a mushroom ceremony and the ayahuasca patterns would appear, and vice versa.

Wonderful. Yes, when ingesting ayahuasca, analogue aya, pharmahuasca/oral DMT, listening to the songs developed by the indigenous people is called for, if one can open the self to it; having the ayahuasca music playing also helps bring on the experience.

Your music is great.

Wow! Even more evidence that everything is interconnected.

Tracks I have playing during the experience, while I am laying in my bed in Shavasana.

Once you familiarize yourself with the chants, they become very comforting and having the recordings on as background music eases on experience. There are more recording out there.
