Have any of you had experiences with moonlight affecting things while being under the influence? One instance, myself and another friend was under the influence of a psychadelic and a third friend was sober, we were outside looking up at the full moon and as clouds began to pass in front of the moon, they would dissipate. I thought that my vision may have been impaired, yet my sober friend saw the same phenomenon happening and had never seen anything like it before. It was a mystery, and I've watched clouds over the moon many times alone and never has this happened again. Fast forward three years, and I was again under the influence of a psychadelic with the previous sober friend who was also influenced as well. We were on the roof of our friend's apartment building.. and again.. looking at the moon, the clouds would approach the beam of moonlight and would disintegrate again. I know what you're all thinking, Probably coincidence, but I have never seen anything like it before or after.

Here is where I am going with this. Not to say that my friend or I are more special than others (to appease the egos) but to say that maybe there is something here? Years before I had seen this TED TALK regarding how natives knew which plants, out of the entire pharmacology of the rain forest, could be mixed together to form this potent psychedelic brew we all know as ayahuasca.

13:32
Well, we use that great euphemism, "trial and error," which is exposed to be meaningless. But you ask the Indians, and they say, "The plants talk to us."
13:40
Well, what does that mean? This tribe, the Cofan, has 17 varieties of ayahuasca, all of which they distinguish a great distance in the forest, all of which are referable to our eye as one species. And then you ask them how they establish their taxonomy and they say, "I thought you knew something about plants. I mean, don't you know anything?" And I said, "No." Well, it turns out you take each of the 17 varieties in the night of a full moon, and it sings to you in a different key. Now, that's not going to get you a Ph.D. at Harvard, but it's a lot more interesting than counting stamens. (Laughter)

Also, you should watch the link if you haven't seen it before.

Not the same at all really but I had wanted to let a friend try DMT the first time the other night during the super moon. Have a campfire. But unfortunately the clouds were so heavy it wasnt visible. Im sure a full moon/bright moon can influence an experience even if it is just the way things are lit up differently. I love going out even sober to view it. He still hasnt tried it but there is no rush. Im currently working on some harmalas for it anyways.

it's already known that the moon has a certain influence on planet earth be it by altering tides, guide animal migrations or like some say, it even manifests itself in the growing process of our own hair. as for it's influence in an experience i believe a full moon can have an impact on anyone, if one's open to it.
the moon has always been a reference to the mystic and the occult, a subject of interest in many pre-abrahamic religions and uncountable ritualistic cults so there could be a bit of conditioning and placebo on the way.

imo a psychedelic journey is about being open, embracing what comes by releasing oneself from old, static mind structures. think about this, most of the people are used to see the moon, be it full or a quarter, but most of us don't really notice it, even less take time to fully appreciate it. so would it make a diference? of course! if you're on a journey and the mind is open, hungry for new perspectives, how could you not see the moon as something full of splendour?
it is there to be seen, like many other aspects of this material reality. i think it is more of a matter of perspective and awareness and how it can catalyze the impact of an experience.
i.e. (and general western principle) if a straight man sees a beautiful woman he's immediately attracted to her and could take his time to picture a sexual/romantic connection between them both. he does not feel and act the same towards what he considers not attractive. if this man changes his perspective and starts seeing the kind of woman he did not appreciate at first as also beautiful, or at least interesting, then it would dramatically change it's own reality and experience.

all i'm saying is that your mind is capable of finding meaning in about everything you encounter. it's just a matter or being open to the bouffet of perspective and taking time to ponder it. in altered states the mind is able to nurture these dissonant ideas and take a complete diferent meaning from them as opposed to the common, dogmatic principles we are fed in this abnormal modern culture.
"..undisturbed by order, chaos creates balance. it is not the artifical balance of scales and weights, but the lively, ever-changing balance of a wild and beautiful dance. it is wonderful; it is magickal. it is beyond any definition, and every attempt to describe it can only be a metaphor that never comes near to its true beauty or erotic energy."

"the angel is free because of his knowledge, the beast because of his ignorance. between the two remains the son of man to struggle."

The moon has a powerful effect on my psyche, tripping or otherwise. The moon has long been acknowledged as a symbol of the unconscious, but I think that beyond serving as a representation of a concept, the moon has a very real and tangible relationship to the human mind's dialogue between the ego and the id. This communication is also an integral part of the psychedelic experience, so it makes sense that the two wold go hand in hand.

On a full moon those who care can feel the psychic energy in the air. If you document your dreams, you will most likely find that they are clearer on such nights. As has been mentioned, the moon has tangible effects on the physical world - tides, menstrual cycles, et cetera. It therefore is not too far of a stretch to believe that it should affect the mental and spiritual worlds as well.

I didn't get to see it recently but have in the past. Perception changes when you experience a super moon, ime. Entheogens are a great catalyst for that change and experience. Big grin Thumbs up
