How long would syrian rue extract be good in freebase form?

Live plants. Sustainable, ethically sourced, native American owned.

I've never worked with syrian rue in freebase form, I've always just made rue tea. So don't consider me an expert by any means. But I'd imagine it lasts as long as DMT freebase lasts before decomposing into DMT N-Oxide. For me, that happens in about 3 to 4 months.

You might be able to make your rue freebase last longer by putting it in the freezer.

Again, I'm no expert here, but that's my best guess.

Had rue freebase extract that turned red after a while, but still working.
Now keeping it as HCL form, probably even better.

Weather freebase or HCl form is hygroscopic, more free base though, it turns orange and wet even in very dry climate.

I am not sure what storing method is best. Maybe capsuling it and freezing.

I still make my own every two weeks.

Funny you say that as there is speculation harmalas oxidize and turn to red in ethanol solutions.
How long do they last in FB, well mine lasts ages in crude powdery plant extract form, didnt change one but as far as I could tell. Seems robust for a normal climate.

Harmala red was shown by burnt via GC-MS analysis to be >95% pure, so any "degradation" imagined from the formation of harmala red is likely negligible.

That said, I have several mason jars of harmala freebase that I have had for years. The consistency (powder) and color (light tan) has not changed since I first extracted it. The same is true of the small amount of harmala hcl I have.

My harmala HCL doesn't change color, but now this got me wondering why my harmalas FB have changed from light grey tan to red/brown-ish, I thought oh well some oxidizing (probably) is quite normal to do this. My container is big, a lot of air, and not very well sealed.
This is not related to alcohol harmala red I think, it's just sitting in air.
