Weird thing going on here. Every time I do a recrystallization the naphtha always has blobs of oil or fat in the bottom of the jar. I follow the tek to a t. I heat naphtha up pour it onto the DMT and mix till dissolved. I let it settle and there's always orange gunk at the bottom and the naphtha looks clear but slightly tinted. Then when I pull the NPS off into a new container for freeze precipitation there's always a few blobs of fat or oil in the bottom of solution. There clear and have no color.

The first few attempts I just left them in and it didn't effect my crystals in the end. This time however I got them out and left them in a container with the orange gunk.

Does anyone know is this normal and why is it happening ? Why aren't they left in with the gunk when I pull? Its odd because I never see them floating in solution when pulling and its as if they just appear once I put the NPS in a new jar. Am I not letting it settle long enough?
That moment when you wonder if this time you went too far....

Obviously everything discussed here is the fictional accounts of someone with an out there imagination. I mean really could any of these tales be real?

It sounds like what is happening is that when you add the hot naphtha it is dissolving whatever oil along with the DMT (this random oil seems to have a higher solubility in naphtha than the other gunk). Once your solvent cools down a bit you are seeing it crash back out. This is one of the reasons some people choose to recrystallize multiple times.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I found that I get this oil when I pour very hot naphtha onto the spice, It seems to dissolve some plant fats also into the naphtha,

What I do now is pour room temp naphtha onto the spice in a shot glass, Then put the shot glass in to a pot with just boiled water, stir constantly while the naphtha heats, as soon as the DMT has dissolved I pull the naphtha. leaving the oil gunk in the bottom. Then freeze.

Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behaviour and information processing. They open you up to the possibility that everything you know is wrong.”
