I use Agua de Florida (Florida Water) pretty frequently in ritual, but I recently also purchased some Colonia Carino. According to the website I bought it from,

Quote:
Colonia Carino is used by shamans in northern Peru (up to Ecuador), in their rituals(mesadas) for flowering, cleansing and healing. During the ritual is also used for freshening (fresquear) and for fragrancing (fraganciar) the alter (mesa)

Does anyone have an experience with this perfume? If so, could you compare and contrast its magical properties with those of Agua De Florida?

Actually, it's called colonia cariño, with the ñ.

This is what it looks like:

From my use of it so far it seems much stronger energetically than florida water, and maybe a little "cleaner", if that makes any sense.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is this used for? Does it help to set the tone for your experience via ritual? Would you mind describing what you do with it?

I personally use it for ritualistic purification, not necessarily in conjunction with psychedelics. I don't really know how exactly it is used traditionally in peru, other than the description I posted, but I know that other colognes, such as Agua De Florida (Florida Water) are used in the perfumero shamanic tradition, and are applied externally as well as consumed internally (something I'm far too terrified of to try), and are treated as spirit allies.

Here is a great article on the perfumero tradition. I originally found that article through a thread on here about Florida Water. If you search 'florida water' or 'agua de florida' you'll find it.
