I am considering getting some plain leaf salvia, and extracting it - this tek seems pretty straightforward (even to someone with limited chem experience): https://www.dmt-nexus.me...Crystal%20Tek%20v1.0.pdf

I just had a few questions that I couldn't find anywhere else online or in the forum:
- Where is a good place to evaporate the acetone? It should be a dark, cool place, but it can't be contained due to the risk of explosion. Some sources even say to do it outside, but won't it get rained on/contaminated there? How long would a 13x9 pan take to evaporate?

- When evaporating onto the leaf, how can you ensure that the extract all made it onto the leaf? Read the changa guide and it just says to weigh the product to ensure the weight is increased the right amount.. but in this case the dose is much smaller and I can't accurately measure just a few mg.

- It mentions filtering acetone between a coffee filter or cotton ball - would the salvorin be completely dissolved, and not caught in that medium? That seems counter-intuitive in a sense.

Lastly, it indicated that odorless paint thinner would work as a non-polar solvent instead of naptha to purify it. I looked into this and couldn't really find any source anywhere at all that proves it. A couple people talking about it, but no hard data. Any ideas?

Any knowledge much appreciated. As far as how I found that PDF, it was just found in a search - I'm not even sure what page it's linked from. Maybe there is more information from that page that I am missing.

It seems to me that if you put it on a windowsill with the window opened and a fan blowing over it to the outside, there is no risk of explosion.

You could make something like this: Homemade ug scale
Or just do it in large quantities so you can measure it out more accurately.

Coffee filters and cottonballs only filter out big particles (which arent soluble or are not yet dissolved) but nothing as small as a Salvinorin A molecule. however the filter (and cottonball) may absorb some aceton containing Salvinorin A.
To avoid that, pour some extra, pure acetone over it, which will absorb the Salivinorin A.

I found this:
Naphta vs Painthinner

However, i dont know a lot about different kinds of solvents.
