"Right now, growing medical marijuana is expensive and it's heavily regulated as well. It's slow to grow, you've got to go through several different strains before you get a stable blend," Sarah Choukah, CEO of Hyasynth Bio, told me. "We're thinking to bypass all this, to make it quick to grow, we can develop pot from technology that could give us customizable blends of yeast."

The plan here is much like other schemes to make bacteria, or algae, or yeast create something that it doesn't do in nature, like we see with lab-grown meat and certain types of biofuels. The team hopes to insert cannabis DNA into yeast and then use the fungus' natural biological properties to turn it into a THC factory. Besides THC and CBD, the team hopes to eventually synthesize other cannabinoids.

Could this be an escape from the social conditioning revolving around marijuana or just another brick in the foundations of it's dogmatic structure by taking over the significance of the herb itself for the sake of playing God? Confused

To quote this research team: "People don't like to work on cannabis research because there are regulatory hurdles to get into it. And then, I guess, there are some people who think there's an ethical issue with working on an illegal drug."
"..undisturbed by order, chaos creates balance. it is not the artifical balance of scales and weights, but the lively, ever-changing balance of a wild and beautiful dance. it is wonderful; it is magickal. it is beyond any definition, and every attempt to describe it can only be a metaphor that never comes near to its true beauty or erotic energy."

Interesting. Hope they are successful.
Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous.

The use of biosynthetic bacteria to create chemical compounds is simply astounding. Perhaps in the future instead of having to waste time, money, and resources synthesizing, extracting, or otherwise preparing various chemical compounds we could simply train bacteria to make the drugs for us! Perhaps one day we could use this technology to create bacteria capable of biosynthesizing LSD and MDMA together! We could just grow the bacteria, extract the goodies when the time is right, and have the time of our lives whilst forgetting what in the world time was to begin with! If any nexians have access to this technology, i beg you to please start creating some stable strains of LSD and MDMA making bacteria! The future of drugs depends on it.
'"ALAS,"said the mouse, "the world is growing smaller every day. At the
beginning it was so big that I was afraid, I kept running and running, and I was glad
when at last I saw walls far away to the right and left, but these long walls have
narrowed so quickly that I am in the last chamber already, and there in the corner
stands the trap that I must run into." "You only need to change your direction," said
the cat, and ate it up.' --Franz Kafka
