Word Origin & History
lucid 1591, "bright, shining," from L. lucidus "light, bright, clear," from lucere "to shine," from lux (gen. lucis) "light," from PIE base *leuk- "to shine, be bright" (see light (n.)). Sense of "easy to understand" first recorded 1786. Lucid interval "period of calm or temporary sanity" (1581) is from M.L. lucida intervalla (pl.), which was common in medieval Eng. legal documents (cf. non est compos mentis, sed gaudet lucidis intervallis).

There are many aspects of 'being' but one of the most enjoyable but least celebrated is lucidity but it should be more as thats what the media like to attack.

That crystal clear razor sharp clarity of thought on a freebase experience cant be beaten, that point where you are disembodied but are over the physical shock experiencing pure thought, like all the sounds in the universe have halted and all there is is those tiny vibrations in your vocal chords. The moment you get that realization sitting at a different perspective.

The media love to portray psychedelics as some sort of chemical madness where you lose your mind for hours on end. Ive been with a freind on acid who was affected by this propoganda and was feeling on edge wandering if he would start to lose the plot anytime soon, and what a surprise.. he didnt! I had to unravel this social conditioning with him.
The tide seems to be slowly turning and as Dr Mckenna said the upsurge in medical trials will prove these entheogens to be of value to society and get medical status and eventually downclassed.

Hit the nail on the head brother.. I have noticed this more and more over the past few weeks as well.

Have you observed any specific examples of this mental clarity/lucidity recently? Or is it just an overall feeling-realization you came to while on the spice?

I'm really curious. Smile

Actually more harmala inspired than anything and have been thinking about how the psycedelic model of psychosis that some are trying to use as waaaaay off target. From what Ive seen schizophrenia is nothing like a psychedelic mindset tere are commonalities but the devils in the details pardon the pun Smile delirients maybe better to focus on.

Ive been witnessing someone go through various stages of shizophrenia and psycosis and I have been able to emphasize with said person through harmalas and understand some of the disjointed disturbing and sometimes illuminating states of mind while maintaining my own 'centre'.
I feel grateful for my centredness and the illusion of lucidity but we can never know how anyone really thinks we can just observe from their actions that they conform to behavioural norms. Often schizophrenics are functional yet behave much less like the 'norm' therefore are dosed up with meds so they do start conforming to the norm.

In my opinion pharmaceuticals are neutral
and have their place in nature its how they are used and why they are used that is the problem, intention is a huge reality lens.
So three cheers for lucidity or the illusion of!
