Hi guys.

I have been to the site a few dozen times over the past year, doing research and checking in on what is going on, but never really taken a good look into things until lately. I have been trying to lurk a bit around the forums and see what info I can find and there is enough to keep anyone busy for quite awhile.

I am taking my first baby steps into a completely new world for me. I have traveled extensively, visiting close to 90 countries in 11 years looking to expand my understanding of the world around me before hitting a spiritual dead end. I am interested in anything that can provide assistance with introspection or expansion of consciousness, etc. I have a somewhat busy mind and hope that I might find something on here that can both quiet and focus my mind for meditation and other activities.

Never used anything in my life at this point. Waiting on the arrival of a few sachets of Vortex to see if they do anything at all. Being totally legal, I doubt they will do much, but thought it might be a mild place to start. If anyone has any experience with those mixes I would be interested to hear about them.

Welcome any advice or input.

tancred

Welcome to the forum. Those of us sequestered to the new members areas are excited for new activity. Supplement your life with meditation and pursue whichever substances you want, but please don't confuse the source of power with anything other than yourself. In my humble opinion this is a very important distinction.

Unsolicited advice forthcomingShocked

If you are looking for something to calm your mind, you're in luck. You don't need to source, buy, harvest, or have any concern over the legality of anything. You are the one who can calm your mind. Meditation is the practice. If you rely on a substance to calm your mind, you will always need the substance. There is nothing you need to take before meditating. This is sort of like thinking a protein supplement will make you better at soccer. If one wants to be better at soccer, one should practice soccer, right? Once you are good at soccer, electrolytes, protein, steroids - whatever, may help your game significantly, but the fundamentals will have to be there and you can only get those through practice.

I get very excited when people express interest in meditation. This is the way to heal humankind. Once a good practice is established, everything from substances to casual conversations will inform it! It isn't hard, you have only to do it with some consistency. Wishing you good fortune on your path.

Again, welcome.

Hmm... at first I read it and went - Yea of course I know that. Then, i stopped a bit and really took that in. Like another drop of water to the plant. Nice.

Now that's an exciting life. People that travel... always something to learn from them. Imagine if we left earth to visit 90 other planets. Or if we left 3d to visit 90 other dimensions...

Meditation is key
