Hi All

I've been lurking around a little. Signed up last weekend.

I'm interested in the botany and chemistry of DMT with regards to eventually doing some extractions.

Like many people I'm a little peeved at the MHRB situation here in Oz. And when it comes to importing anything into Oz you're in trouble. You get fines for carrying an orange off a plane let alone spice containing loveliness. So, the second option of getting some ACRB is out too. Harumph.

But I suppose the positive is that I will have to work a little and learn some new skills to get my spice. When I succeed it will be that much more fulfilling.

So, the plan is, to study some teks and grow some spice containing plant. Or, try out some wild plants if I can ID them.

I'm interested in the grasses because there are so many of them. Seems like a no brainer. But I suspect the extraction teks will be more complicated.

With regards to experience, many many many moons ago I was spiked with DMT by some less than responsible people. Luckily, I liked the experience but for years had no idea what it was. Every now and then I read about psychedelics trying to work out which drug it had been. I knew it wasn't just strong acid and I knew it wasn't a mushroom trip, just because it was so short. For a while I thought Ketamine, but then I read some DMT reports and I recognized what was being described. Swirling tunnels of vibrantly colored light with eyes open or closed, entities that wanted me to come and play ....

Anyway, I thought I ought to post a little introduction so there it is.

Speak soon.

Smile

Welcome Mistletoe Minx,

Given your geographical location, and above mentioned interests, the threads on Acacia information and Acacia Indentification might prove to be useful.

thanks colour. Im looking at those links now with interest. Theres a lot to learn.

Im also interested in phalaris. I understand AQ1 and Big Medicine strains are worth a look. this thread is pretty interesting as well.

what concerns me a bit about acacia is that harvesting them from the wild could damage them. I don't want to kill a tree just for a buzz, however profound.

Smile

I'm a little confused because it's quite difficult to get "spiked with DMT" as it's hard enough to deliver an effective dose when you're actually really trying hard much less when you're an unwitting participant. I'm curious as to how you believe they spiked you. Was it in a drink? Was it in a pipe? Food? Did you smoke it? Shoot it? Snort it? Put it under your tongue? If it was an oral DMT experience, it could be indistinguishable in length from a mushroom trip, and the two can be close in effect, so for someone with no experience, it would be virtually impossible to discern just based on a description of effects. If it was smoked, it could be DMT, but even then smoking DMT is a tricky process, you'd typically have to hold in a harsh hit for unreasonably long, avoid destroying the product by flat out burning it which would be a pretty good possibility if you didn't know you were about to smoke it, etc...To be honest your description of your experience just based on the psychedelic details doesn't really seem to discern one from another too much. You say entities were present, so it probably wasn't LSD, but I don't know. There's a lot of overlap with psychedelics. There have been times I've taken mushrooms and thought that if I didn't remember the physical act of having eaten mushrooms, based on the effects I was experiencing, I would have concluded that I was head deep in an ayahuasca experience.

Hi Global

This was something like 20 years ago, so my memory isn't crystal clear. However, we smoked a lot of grass back then in a variety of ways, in joints, in pipes, in bongs and buckets, you name it. And I do remember having the thought 'this grass tastes very different.' before being propelled into this experience, whatever it was.

Having said that, I understand DMT is quite a harsh smoke and I don't remember there being any coughing but, then again, maybe there was. Understand I was adept at taking lung fulls of hashish from a bucket and keeping it down for ages.

To the details of the experience, let me expand on that a little:

It felt and looked as if I was being propelled down a swirling maelstrom of opulent and vibrant color and impossibly intricate design. It was palatial and quite magnificent. It had a fractal nature to it in so far as examining any aspect of the tunnel would expose further and further detail. I was able to examine the atomic constituents that this 'tunnel' was made of and they had mass and weight and substance as they zoomed by, and to me looked a little like electronic circuitry ... but big. Anyway I was flying down this thing at an extraordinary rate and it was a vision that was entirely emmersive and entirely created. It wasn't an exaggeration or distortion of what was already visible. It was a mentally manufactured vision that completely replaced all that.

That subsided after a while, and I was greeted by entities. They were like a series of archetypes. The stereotypical clown, the stereotypical 'red indian' and so on, and... er.. they all took turns in 'being me'. In spite of being pinned to the floor, they took turns dancing me and then seemed to rate the experience to me and let another archetype have a go.

Emotionally, it wasn't entirely pleasant. The tunnel bit was just awe inspiring but later I was thrown between joy and despair so rapidly that I had no time to assess what was joyful or what was I was in despair about. I was just thrown around like a ragdol between an array of different emotions.

And then things began to fade away.

What I'll say next will probably convince you it wasn't DMT. I was on acid at the time. But Im fairly familiar with LSD and Psilocybin and I ve done very strong trips on both before and since. Nothing has ever come close to this. It was stronger and more importantly it was qualitatively different.

That said, of course, I can't say for sure what it was.
