Hi there!
I followed 69Ron's tek to convert my freebase to fumarate to make pharma.
Dissolved 1g of pale yellow freebase in 40g 100% acetone.
Dissolved 310mg of fumaric acid in 40g acetone (with a heat bath because the acid wouldn't dissolve).
I mixed both. The solution was instantly cloudy, more orange than yellow.
I set to evap under a fan.
I came back an hour later, the solution was clear (not cloudy) and bright orange.
I assume the fan brought lots of H2O which dissolved the fumarate and cleared the cloudiness.
I let that sit one night without the fan, then a whole afternoon in a 30°C oven.
I ended up with the "jam" pictured.
Is this the expected result? Was the fan a bad idea?
Considering that I didn't start with goo, I didn't expect to end up with goo. ^^
Cheers!
