Dear Nexians,
I hadn't travelled to hyperspace for more than a year when a friend brought some spice and I decided to travel with him.

This time we made a nice ritualistic atmosphere before stating. A long whole-album track from Ravi Shankar was playing on Youtube. Candles were lit and Incense was spread through the room. Ravi Shankar, and later also Tibetan Zen Ambience, was playing on low volume throughout the hyperspace journeys.
Some Cannabis was smoked and when the inner clearity and peace were optimal DMT joints were smoked. I smoked 2,5 Cannabis/Tobacco/DMT joints. 3 proper drags from such a joint would be enough for breakthrough.

Chronology gets difficult to discern for me when travelling hyperspace so here is what I experienced, In a Chrono-illogical order Razz

The first (closed eyed)vision I remember was that of a dark void around me and a liquid-like,
bright plasma spreading out from a central point to form a line-grid around me the shape of a rectangular room. Then that rectangulair room started spinning 360 degrees around me.

Next vision I remember was a throne constisting of 4 thrones placed back to back, 1 facing East, 1 facing West, one facing North, one facing South. I was being walked towards the thrones and seated into one of these 4 thrones by beings I cannot recall. I just recall there were beings and they guided/led me towards that throne and instructed me to sit in it.

As I sat in 1 of these 4 thrones I was made aware that there was a goddess/feminine divine being in the throne next to the one I sat in. I was instructed to make eye contact with her, but "they" were also very clear about the fact I should look at her humbly, not too directly. And so I gently turned my head to the right and indeed I saw a feminine homonid-being that I felt was very wise & powerfull. She felt like the great mother, if that makes any sense. A shock passed through me as I realised to whom I was seated next to. A shock and a deep revearance. She was seemingly built of strands of light. Her eyes were 2 big round holes, surrounded by rings. Kind of like the eyes of an Owl. The strands and shards that composed her body seemed hard, like horn or stone. Her body was a strange mix between black, transparent & spooky, minty, bright green. This lasted a fleeting moment and I forgot the details quickly, like I wasn't supposed or allowed to remember too much of this encounter.

The next vision that stuck in my memory was perhaps most bizarre and hardest to explain in words. First I saw several homonid beings who had several(6, 8, 12) tentacles
comming out of their torsos under their arms. They were very in my face, very demanding of attention. I noticed my body responded with intense fear, but also noticed that my consciousness was disconnected from my body. As such my Consciousness was able to take on a sort of Mother role, comforting a terrified child, the body & it's fears, and persuade it to calm down & surrender. This worked exceptionally well. As I calmed down my Body's mind( I swear it has a mind of it's own) I was allowed to go deeper, or so it seemed.

I then entered a strange, rectangular room. It was colored black and white in some kind of irregulair checker-pattern. In that room I was surrounded by a group of homonid, tentacle beings. About a group of 6 of them or more. 1 of them I remember particularly detailed.
It was a female homonid being with very long, feminine legs. No feet, more like deer-legs, colored pitch black. A big, oval head colored pitch-black too. Her skin seemed like a
plastic/latex wrap. She had some white, straightlined white-spots on her skin too.
She too had a number of long, slender tentacles on er torso under her arms. She seemed to reach out to me.

The other ones were similair shaped & colored, except for some which I vaguely remember to be more bold & rounded and to be colored Yellow, Red and Blue. But as the feminine entity reaching out to me grabbed most attention I saw these other beings only in my peripheral vision.

What I found most valuable was that I noticed a defenite transition from 1 layer to the next. First after the DMT took effect I noticed my verbal thoughts went wild first. My jumpy, restless thoughts would demand alot of attention. That was the first layer: Mind, thoughts.

Then the Imagery came and I decided to pay no attention to my rambling mind and to focus instead on the imagery. This allowed me to enter a world of 70% Images and 30% thought. That was the next level: Imagery, Imagination.

Then, as I became comfortable and accustomed to the Imagery, I seemed to shift to yet another, deeper layer. It was here were I spontaniously gained al sorts of insight into my own behaviour & it's consequences. I saw situations I had caused, which I previously never saw as my responsibility/fault. This layer of being is so ego-less that it allows me to see all my ills and misbehaviours of the present & past and see them for what they are; Ills. With these diagnoses I can immediately work on becomming a better person and dropping those bad behavioural patterns.

So allthough I deeply appreciate the visual layer of consciousness, it is the Ego-less layer of unhindered, clear Self-reflection that lies beneath that visual layer in which I have found most of DMT's healing/therapuitical effects.

Does anyone else experience DMT this way too? In 3(or more?) destinct layers:
Mind, Imagery & Self-Reflection?

I agree with your observation. As nice as the visuals can be, they are a distraction from the real work. At least this is my feeling about my pharmahuasca trips. It can be really nice to float through the dreamscape, but there is much more profundity to be found in maintaining conscious focus and reflection on the self.

The mental chattering to me is simply a sign of the trip not taking off, staying in "self-lock". This is a phenomenon that I find can happen with all psychedelics, not just DMT.

And by the way, if you like Ravi Shankar music as a musical background, I must really recommend you to listen to Pannalal Ghosh. There is a torrent named "Bansuri" for the record "Great Master, Great Music (1971)" that I find brilliant. Some other torrents have afwully noisy recordings though.

I found the mental chatter not to be a problem. I used to try to hush up my rambling mind, but I learned it is not my mind that is the problem. The chattering mind, especially while breaking through, will demand alot of attention.

It is only when you give it that attention that the "self-lock" occurs and the trip is blocked or even terminated,
but I have found that when you just use discipline to disconnect your attention from your overactive thoughts and instead focus on the imagery as fully as you can the trip isn't in the least bit hindered.

I found it's all about intention. Even with very low doses of DMT, if I focussed my attention hard and fully on the imagery I would still go very deep and stay in hyperspace really long. A mistake I used to make was to try to shut my mind up. This still demanded alot of my attention to go to my mind. Just ignore the mind. Let it analyse, just don't focus on it. The more I focussed on the imagery the deeper I went into hyperspace.

Layers yes. Sheets. Components smelt into alloys, alloys joined fitted to braces and bolts to wood and wood to bone to harness the tides, the lunacy of the moon and the four winds. A Spanish galleon transfixed in a north by northwest by south and eastward sprawl sales seven and three masted across the big sleep. All hands on deck splicing the mainbrace, braid fortunes from white canvas, adjudicate the heavens.
