I know this might seem a weird question to some, but i know for a fact that chillies have something in them that get you "high" and make you hallucinate.
People could call me a freak for my addiction to hot peppers because of the unnecessary quantities of hot pepper sauce i consume, i could have a whole jar within a day, when i do consume lots, i get an extremely zippy, cocaine type high and then start seeing gyroscopic visuals on the comedown. When i eat raw jalapeños, these seem to give the biggest effect. Eating enough "spice" to give you an extreme trip could be extremely bad for your digestive system so it makes it hard to test although they are good for your immune system.

What i want to know, is, i wonder if there is some type of alkaloids in chillies/peppers which could be extracted for the purpose of traveling?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Can't say I've ever heard that theory, it would be interesting/funny to find out that there is some psychoactive substance in peppers.

What is it in chillie that makes you "high" ? You say you know for a fact, would be nice if you quoted some source or expanded on your 'fact'..

Piperine in peppers is inhibitor of some cytochrome enzymes, forgot which, and they are partly responsible for metabolism of some alkaloids (as well as other substances) so it might potentially increase the effects of DMT but dont know if by themselves have any noticeable effect? I think curcumin potentiate the effect of piperine if I remember correctly, and it also inhibited some cytochrome enzymes.. I would have to re-read on this to know for sure. Here are a couple of threads:
https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=12238
https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=22787
https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=20992

Im not sure about safety of ingesting piperine and curcumin in high doses, specially watch out for potential interaction with other drugs that are metabolized by those enzymes.. Be safe!

Is it possible the "getting high" when taking hot peppers by themselves is not to do with a substance but rather to do with the challenging of yourself/suffering (just like any extreme sport might make one get "high" ) ?

By the way, peppers are used in initiation rituals of some indigenous tribes. They put a lot of very strong pepper in the tongue of the initiates, which are supposed to, after that, start "receiving" songs from a certain bird entity.

Doesn't eating chillis / spicy food release endorphins? I know I also get a buzz from chillis, can't say I have tripped though, and I have sampled up to 12,000,000 scoville chilli extract Shocked

^^ I think purges is on to something. Whenever i eat my ghost pepper hot sauce, it takes a lot of will power and concentration to get through the excruciating burning and pain. So why do I do it time and time again?

'Cuz I feel freakin awesome afterwards! I feel like a superhuman who just conquered the race of capsaicin. The rush of endorphins to quell the "pain" gives me the best afterglow any "psychedelic" has ever given me.

Just keep in mind that pure capsaicin is neurotoxic. Be safe!

For me chillies are like the glow buzz I get from wine or a couple of stiff shots of booze. Not drunk, but the buzz from the first few sips/chugs. Although by the end of a meal I am rather "out of it" dizzy a bit and blowing my nose like crazy. Almost like maybe being beaten up or just wiped out on a skateboard.
Oh there are chillies I can eat no problem, then others that close my throte up and I cant breath, even if I have like a very small bit.

the reason chillies get you buzzed is just because the capsaicin burns ur tongue and mouth and your brain releases endorphins as a natural painkiller.

theres not some magic chilli drug.
just natural endorphins to fight pain.
Gun it to 88...

i eat chilis a LOT hotter than jalapeños both raw and cooked, almost daily; i have never noticed any visuals or a "high" of any kind other than that caused by endorphins.

I do get visuals naturally anyway..After doing some research, i have seen that eating chillies will cause your body to release natural painkillers, but also higher your state of consciousness, this may have something to do with the enhanced visuals i am seeing.

Ok I'm not sure if they make you "hallucinate" but I do get a huge release of endorphins after eating hot chillies. I have what I think is slight HPPD from a bad combo of shrooms, mesc, acid, and mdma. so I generally have CEV's all the time. I have never noticed these entensifying after eating chillies, but I haven't eaten a whole jar, usually 2-3 is enough to pep me up, moreso than a cup of coffee does in fact.

apparently doctor ian rothwell hallucinated after eating a curry rated at 6 million scoville units (almost 6 times the worlds hottest pepper).

but that was his wife who reported he was hallucinating.
he only reported an endorphin rush.

it seem mushrooms would be a simpler way to go about cracking open that ape cranium Very happy

Quote:
The pain and endorphin release triggered by eating chiles can cause a slowly building but powerful rush with a duration similar to that of smoked DMT (5–20 minutes). The impact on the mental state of the hot chile eater is undisputable, causing a short-lived but intense altered state that can include increased heart rate, physical and mental stimulation, detachment and dissociation, increased or decreased ability to concentrate, and euphoria. The combination of these effects puts chiles squarely into the pantheon of psychoactive plants.

Just for kicks take a bit out of a onion on a empty stomach (do it like your eating an apple). If your anything like me you'll want to purge but wont be able to. Then you'll want to drink or eat something in a panic to end the suffering. It feels health however, and quit a trip (of sorts). Hot peppers I've been there to. Neutral

I eat extra hot chilli pepper you get at the Indian store. Somehow that is strong enough to make you see stars. It's extra hot red hot chillis. If you start small you can in time get a spice tolerance and eat it by the spoon full. If you can eat that much you will enter a dream like state and maybe talk to spirits.Drool its not outlawed to eat spice. Most people can not handle the heat. It's fucked if the fbi trys to stop me. I know studies where addicts were given dmt. 60% of the subjects quite using. DMT makes your brain make healthy nerve connections. DMT makes a dream like state. Many of the chemicals you release in your sleep help you heal. You pruduce a lot of growth hormones in sleep. If you don't sleep much it's not to worry. Your body adjusts. Thumbs up Parts of your brain sleeps while you are awake if need be. If you sleep little once you adjust you sleep harder. I want to learn to make dmt from chillis for experiments on sleep and addiction. At that point refining the DMT is illegal in the US. It's been illegal here since the 80s. The argument that DMT is all ready in you, so how can you make it illegal may not be a good one. If it is all drugs fall into that category. Drugs refine the chemicals that give you enjoyment and motivation. When you add extra of the chemicals often at least on the short term you make less of a chemical you need on your own. That's chemical dependency. I'd love to make DMT from chillis. If a chemist can tell me how please do. This is for research only! I will not make DMT myself. I do really wish I could help my desperate fellow man with my knowledge. It's not ligle. I'm not a risk taker, but maybe I could set up a ligle experiment. To be an addict it's likely your life was not easy. It's not cool to put people away for 'self medicating'. A lot of time weather a person knows it or not it's negative coping. God bless you all. Stay safe. God, whatever that is to you, loves you. If you don't want to hear God talk then I love you! We need to look out for each other.

I just read the terms a little. I'm not to ask you to tell me how to make a 'drug' even if it's not outlawed. I am not to ask for ligle research even.m

DrPsychoClown, you can't make DMT from chilis. When the user above you said spice, they meant spice as in spicy (hot) food - not DMT.
