Hello all!

This summer it is my plan to go WWOOFing somewhere in Europe for two months before boom.

For anyone who hasn't heard of this wonderful organisation before, check out the
website.

It is basically a collection of organic farms around the world, where you work and learn about organic farming/living and in exchange for helping out at the farm, you are provided with accommodation, food and good company.

Am writing to see if anyone on the Nexus has done this before? And if so, is there any advice/ experiences you could share to help me choose a nice, entheogen friendly farm? Am thinking Portugal or Spain as these places are close to Boom but I'm open to any recommendations

Thanks! Smile

Hey, I have not done this personally but I know people who have. I almost went to Norway to do this when I was 18 and still think about it from time to time. Keep us posted on where you end up going and how it is I would love to hear your story. Best of luck!

Interesting, I had been thinking about doing the exact same thing since about this time last year and then decided a couple months ago that I'd rather put the money towards other endeavours. However, considering the synchronicity of your post and other elements of my life as of late, I am reopening the possibility of making it happen. Now the finances just need to fall in line Wink Laughing

A friend of mine in Portugal just visited Atlantisya, an ecologic and organic project dedicated to exploring innovative ways of living. I'm not sure if they're officially connected to WWOOF but she had an incredible time and the photos I've seen of the place are absolutely beautiful. It says on their Facebook page that they are happy to receive volunteers between March and the end of Novemeber. You can email them for more information. I hope that helps. Dream big my friend and please keep us updated on your plans! Thumbs up

That ancestor lives inside our DNA, dormant, unexpressed, waiting to be remembered and brought back to life to show us the true nature of our indigenous soul" - Sajah Popham.

Thanks guys. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes if you are interested in hearing.

Xantho, thanks for the info, they are indeed connected to WWOOF, and funnily enough were one of the places I was already considering. THAT synchronicity I think has just made up my mind Pleased . Any more info you could share from your friends experience would be massively appreciated.

Also, if finances are holding you back you might find this interesting.
Flower Power Situated on the tiny island of Flores in the middle of the Atlantic, this commune survives completely without money. I know plane tickets or whatever would be an issue, but once they're sorted it'd be smooth sailing money wise. I was tempted to opt for this myself, but is a bit out of the way, a bit extreme and I might never want to come back Laughing Check out the gallery the place looks stunning.

That place looks amazing! How much is a flight? Do you take a boat from a nearby island?

Not too sure man. I believe there is a small airport on the island. I reckon finding an airline that would fly there would prove tricky enough. I'm sure one could take a boat from one of the other islands as well. Either way it would totally be worth it to not be dependent on money/ capitalist society whatsoever. The money spent on a flight there would probably be the last thing you buy for a long time.

One day maybe..

Wow - thanks so much for sharing Eudaimōn! I'm grateful for this connection Very happy Flower Power looks absolutely amazing! The gallery photo of the cabin in the lush foothills with a garden below is incredible. I'm going to start looking into flights right away.

A brief description by my friend of her stay at Atlantisya: a magical space in the mountains, quite far from all civilization, plenty of wildlife, a flowing creek, a yoga temple, community kitchen, lots of tents and hammocks, a magical tipi, healing frequencies, smiling faces, delicious organic fresh food, the most beautiful space i’ve ever found myself in with the most glowing beings Smile wholeheartedly recommended, they deserve all the help and love in this vast universe!

Make it happen! Pleased

We have wwoofers coming to our community over the summer
I wish I could recommend it but of course it is closely associated with my personal info.

It really is a remarkable program eh?

Truly remarkable. Having it as an option has me seriously reconsidering the validity of this degree..

Is yours in Europe?

No we are in Northern California

Also the general view about entheogens here is concern about liabilities.

Surely there are better options for you out there

No doubt there are! But I am more so concerned about living amongst like minded folk as opposed to actually going tripping during my stay. Also wouldn't like to end up on a farm that forbids or dislikes others smoking ganj.

I'm not too concerned about these things however.

Will do House. English is listed as a spoken language on their WWOOF page. I'll be emailing them today about language, capacity regarding food/accommodation, recommended means of traveling to the island etc. so I'll post when I hear back.
