Hi guys,

I have some caapi vine extract in liquid and in resin form. I just wanted to be sure and find out if this can be soaked or dissolved (alcohol/ high quality vodka) into the leaf to act as the harmalas?

Also what everyday herb you can buy at the supermarket would you guys recommend to use for the leaf? I'm thinking about using Camomile

Thanks!

Yes, the tincture and resinous crude extract should work fine. What methods did you employ to create them? An ethanol soak?

It was bought. Basically they just boiled it down with water. The resin they condensed it further.
I will add a very little bit mixed with alcohol to potentiate the spice

Also, this might be a silly question but why do people extract harmalas from the caapi leaves/vine or syrian rue? I can understand with the DMT since you can then smoke it and its easier to use it. But with syrian rue and caapi doesn't drinking it suffice? What am I missing here?

You can buy chamomile leaf at the supermarket? Or are you talking about the flowers - I'm not sure that they would smoke very well. There's an excellent thread around called "how does your changa look like" (or something similar, sorry I haven't worked out how to do links from my phone yet) which is full of peoples recipes. I think one of the common supermarket-type ingredients was mint, so that might be another option.

As for why people extract, I imagine taste and convenience are both factors. Very happy Much easier to swallow a capsule than chug a cup of bitter tea. Also to remove tannins and other unwanted things. Simple curiosity: how does it differ when I do *this*. As a first step in isolating pure alkaloids. For making changa. To allow more accurate dosing. I'm sure purple would have other reasons too, these are just some that spring to mind.

Possible reasons include:
- cleaner experience because less body load from plant chemicals like tannins etc.;
- ability to accurately weigh dose of actives adding to predictability and repeatability of experience.

I just get the camomile tea bag and use them.

I will add a minute fraction of my resin to the changa then

This includes all isolated psychedelic compounds and RCs (Research Chemicals), whether they are legal or not. The only goods allowed to be discussed are legal live plants, legal viable seeds (both in the Sustainable plant and seed suppliers subforum) and legal/unwatched chemical supplies. See Street Value of DMT (AND WHY YOU SHOULDN'T EVER SELL DMT AND OTHER PSYCHEDELICS) for good reasons why we don't allow this.

For those same reasons. It allows other routes of administration to be explored (sulblingual, rectal, vaporized, changa, etc.), and it makes use easier. Pharmahuasca is a major reason to extract harmala alkaloids... Isolated alkaloids seem to produce fewer unpleasant side effects for many people as well. So the real question is, why not extract? Razz
