English mostly. I enjoy learning languages, though. Smile I've learned some French and Spanish in the past but I don't recall much of it, now. Also, I think it's important to develop your own sense of language with not only familiar words but unfamiliar words. Thumbs up

russian, hebrew, english and bits of italian from a year i lived there. I can relate to what u saying- on so many levels and its beautiful to find ur kind, the magical land scapes we have in our eyes is so often makes my day, makes me curious about people and their story, but funny enough as they say " beauty is in the eye of the beholdar" i see it almost in every eye i meet, i can be freind with infants as i can befriend with old people,so many times i started talking with people who looked complitly normal and they told me the most beautiful things about them self, almost like evryone has a story and they will share it with u if u let them, if u ask if u will seek deep enough in their soul, people r magical creatures expirementing this life through themselfs and together in so many diffrent ways, the "explorers" as i can define my self r just more open to fully exprience the wide range of emotions we have, but i believe anyone can, sometimes life changing events brings us there, to question our life here, somtimes we r born like that, wise...
keep asking and searching, listening and expriencing this amazing exsitance. much love.

Translation programs were attempted, but they couldn't do the entire job properly.

Greetings. Russian and English. I can very much relate to this post and what others are saying. It's very hard to find very open minded people. I feel bad for even saying open minded, because I don't want to create some sort of arbitrary levels of understanding, but it is the best way to explain it so far, in my own journey.

I love seeing that spark in people. That curiosity. That fire within. The never ending quest to be as self aware as possible. The journey to consonantly construct and deconstruct your mind to create the most accurate model of understanding the human experience. Whatever any of that means.

Also, there's no way I can translate that doc. Especially not accurately. You need someone who is not just fluent in Russian, but well educated in the language.

I read you post few times and it is not celar to me how do you make connection of language and your identity?

Living in many different cultures I can see great differences and how the culture can even change you without you even noticing it even in mature age, and not always in positive way.

I grew up in Yugoslavia, so French was my first foreign language, then English.

First I lived in Paris, and that didn't go well for me. After a year I moved to New York, and it felt home right away.

After long time I moved to Mexico, and since I speak Spanish I was in that culture and it affected me in the wrong way, I didn't even realised it, it just shrieked me and made me different, I almost thought my consciousness was shrinking.

I live now in India, in a hippie place of Arambol, Goa, and even though it "looks"alternative it is not at all, as the choice of drugs is alcohol and pot... Also in digital, time,we,live in I am in FB groups for Arambol where we discussed the things we encounter, and was surprised how uneducated an closed minded people were, could never see that had it not been for that type of communication.

Also Arambol and Goa is Russian now, and in the line of the thread, I realised I should learn Russian, and I saw Russians as much more progressive than westerners. It is hard to know what socio-economic origin is of either group.

I don't speak Hindi but can read it, and I wanted to learn it, but dropped it since I don't like Indians, they can be very violent even outside of drinking space, and also very unpredictable.

I speak 'Murikan, and also a very little bit of Spanish and Russian. Hardly worth mentioning, really. I just can't stay devoted to language learning, even though I have a strong interest in it. Anybody else have this problem?

Anyway... This talk of different cultures shaping people into who they are is fascinating to me. I've always ahd an interest in that. Foreign people are always fun to talk to, so interesting. Very happy
I just wish I could communicate in their native tongue. Maybe one day.

Other languages I'd like to learn are Portugese, French, and German. The other languages similar to Russian would be nice to know as well. I really enjoy the sound of those languages.

Both google translate and bing translator were tried. Attached is what I'd call the closest thing to a success (they left much to be desired).

I have had a really hard time with languages due to my upbringing.

I lived in 5 countries, on 3 continents before I was 18. Having to learn a language other than English was not easy. In the end I did learn some Spanish and Portuguese... but am more fluent in Italian.

French (and English) is my first language.
My cousin knows 9 languages and one day was "stuck" speaking Turkish for hours, until he was able to break out of it.

+1 Smile

Nice to see some fellow Swedes in here! It feels though, like English is our second mother-tongue. On some topics, especially those I research in my free time, I'm almost better at talking about them in English because I'm bathing in that language all the time, and especially concerning those topics.
"As my soul left my body, I found myself floating in a swirling ocean of multi-colored light. At the end, I could see and feel an even brighter light pulling me toward it, and as it shined on me, I felt indescribable happiness. I remembered everything about eternity - knowing, that we had always existed, and that all of us are family. Then old friends and loved ones surrounded me, and I knew without a doubt I was home, and that I was so loved." - Christian Andréason

Dude, that blonde girl is a total DMT/10.

My native language is dutch. I'm fluent in English. I usually speak french at work (and only at work) which causes me to have a limited 'professional' vocabulary. And I guess I speak and understand some german but it's not really worth mentioning.
