I am grateful to have found this wonderful online community. I have learned a lot reading the forums over the past several months, and I would like to share what I have learned and contribute some of my knowledge back.

Little bit about me: I grow my own plants and harvest sustainably from the leaves. I prefer using a GVG for taking off. I prefer being at home alone for these journeys.

I want to be part of the trend towards sustainable harvesting that will hopefully break our dependence on importing rootbarks

I am curious, what plants are you growing and what type of extraction are you performing on them? I think it's awesome you have your own system for this.

I started out using the phyllodes of Acacia Accuminata with a simple A/B extraction. Tear the phyllodes and boil in vinegar, basify with lye, extract with naphtha, and "crystalize". My yields were never very high or pure, but it worked for my needs.

Unfortunately the plant got overwatered when I left town for a few weeks and didn't recover, and another problem I had with Acacia was it was rather slow growing, in my experience

Now I am going to start to use psychotria viridis. My plant is still young and I'm not sure I have the ideal strain/variety, but I have read a lot of posts by user rahlii--who has a few plants and posted some ideal conditions to raise them in to maximize yields--and I am looking forward to trying them out soon to see what I can get.
