Hello all Very happy

Firstly, I apologize for this being in the wrong section, but I'm still unable to post in other sections of this site. If you are a moderator who is reading this, would you kindly move this topic to the correct section for me? Thanks Smile

Anyway, SWIM has been invited to partake in an Ayahuasca ceremony in a couple of months. Because Ayahuasca is illigal in SWIM's country, these opportunities do not come along every day and he is very excited for it. The people involved with organizing it are extremely passionate about what they do, and while it is costing money, they strictly make no profit and all proceeds are sent to Ecuador, from where the brew is sourced.

This will be SWIM's first ever ceremony, although he did try a small amount of DMT two years ago, but not enough to break through. Despite not breaking through, it was still the most profound, alien yet familiar feeling he had ever experienced. Very strange things began to happen after that. It was horrifying at first because he had opened a windows in his mind that he did not understand - being able to perceive things that he couldn't have pre-DMT, intuitively knowing things, having (sometimes horrific) dreams predicting near-future events, - and to cut a very long story short, SWIM knows he has been called by Mother Ayahuasca and is ready to finally meet her and face his inner demons and baggage head on to be healed and to become more spiritually grounded.

My question for you guys is actually about the diet. There's a lot of information on what you're NOT supposed to eat, which is fine. The basic outline being:

- no hot peppers (considered very antagonistic to Ayahuasca)
- no onions or garlic (considered to repel spirits)
- no spices in general, but most of all no hot spices
- no salt
- no pork
- no fried foods
- no sexual stimulation

Since SWIM is not the most creative person in the kitchen, can you recommend some good recipes that are compatible with the dieta? By the way, SWIM is a vegetarian and is also considering going vegan whilst comitting to the dieta

But if your looking for good recipes regardless, just start exploring new fruits, greens, and veggies and mixing them together in novel ways. There is loads of recipes on the internet for plant-based diets. Smoothies and home-made juices are great too.

Food is what we build and fuel our brains and bodies on, so I absolutely think it can have a big impact on our experiences. Some of the old dietary restrictions aren't entirely accurate though, as you can see from the link.

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

It's not that onion and garlic repels spirits,
it's that they expel them with a divine song.

I myself have never changed my diet and have not abstained from any certain foods or sexual stimulation and my Ayahuasca experiences have turned out quite beautifully. That is not to say a special diet doesn't help, cuz it may (idk), but for me personally, the only thing i do differently before partaking in Ayahuasca is simply eating a light meal (something easily digestible) about 6 hours before taking Ayahuasca. I've even eaten a rather large meal 2 hours before taking Ayahuasca but i stopped that cuz i'd end up just throwing it all back up anyways lol, but even then i still had amazing experiences. And the sex thing is fine the night before, that i know of.

The only thing you need to really worry about is certain medications.

So to each their own Smile
