A couple of years ago I tested what is possibly acacia dealbata, one showed no dmt, the other was positive for dmt but no idea on amounts, was just a qualitative test.
Nowadays where I live there are several confirmed dealbatas and next month I`m very likely gonna run some propper analysis on some leaves and branches to see exactly what is inside.
If you do any tests in the meanwhile, let us know the results!

look forward to the results..it is good to note what season the experiment took place, as plants can have alkaloids at one time of year and not another

How much is required for a small analysis to see if it contains DMT? Is there a quick way of doing an extraction test?

So I know its been a while and i havnt completed this extraction fully yet but I have done one NPS extraction on the first acidic boil that i did and have yeilded some slightly yellowish goo that i can verify is active .It is autumn time here and the trees are in ealy sages of flowering when I harvested and we have had a particularly dry summer so there hadnt been rain for a couple months, although we do get heavy fogs most mornings. Will post more results when I have some more to tell.I dont have scales so cant give any weights but will try get some pic's up.Will also get pic's of the trees so I can get a more positive identification on them but they have been planted with eucalypts, this makes the trees grow faster and straighter I believe, and from the research I have done there are only three possibile species they could be, Blackwood Black Wattle and Silver Wattles and after looking through worldwidewattle site i think they are Silver Wattles.

Thanks for sharing your preliminary results!
I thought dealbatas flower in spring.. at least here they do.. Unless they flower twice a year?
EvilSparx, for testing with TLC or reagents, you need a tiny tiny amount.. In theory some micrograms only, but in practice having, say, 30mg is more than enough for testing and repeating tests if necessary.
TLC is the best way a kitchen chemist can use to test these things. This summer we will make some TLC kits available, stay tuned.

..very encouraging preliminary result thank you medicine man...
acacia flowering can often be climate related (temperature etc) , rather than a definite time of year

not sure if anyone was interested in following this thread but i had suggested I would post more results and havnt yet.Unfortunately my wife is very ill, a suspected tear in the stomach lining,so my acidified water extracts are sitting in the freezer until further notice.

I'll be investigating Acacaia dealbata over the next few months also -they are very widespread where I am, and I'd like to put the 0.02% alkaloid rating to the test. I am a piece of knowledge-retaining computer code imitating an imaginary organic being.

This is good news! I have seen this mimosa locally as well. If i may recall it was a planted, Singular yellow ball flowers, 2m in height. It may have been Mimosa farnesiana? Last attempt at clone prop. wasn't a success. I am interested in knowing more. I remember the location and will get pics or samples to compare if needed.

Please look at the posts carefully. Not only was this thread started 3 years ago, the OP was last active 2 years ago. "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools."
