So, I had a pretty terrifying experience yesterday... I believe I have serotonin syndrome, but I'm not sure... Maybe you all can help me figure it out.
I took 1 MG of Xanax, and felt relaxed in about an hour. Decided to smoke some enhanced leaf... I smoked A LOT... I re-dosed for about 2 straight hours, 100mg doses each time. When I was finished I took another 1 MG of Xanax... A few hours later I became mildly confused, got a SEVERE headache, the worst I have ever had in my life. I had crippling nausea, could barely walk straight.. Ended up projectile vomiting multiple times until I fell asleep..
Could I have given myself serotonin syndrome from the massive amounts of DMT + Xanax? Or is this something else?
I'm feeling quite a bit better today... only had a mild headache and mild nausea in the morning, and now I'm having a bit of diarrhea.

Do you know what plants were used in this enhanced leaf?

Any other substances? Alcohol? Too much chocolate? A weed brownie? This would be the first time I have heard of such a negative reaction from xanax and DMT. I can't imagine the mullein having such an effect. Have you tried smoking mullein on its own and seeing how you react to it? Wish I could be of more help. It does sound a little like SS but I can not say for sure. You or someone with wiki skills should add this experience to the known substance interaction page in our wiki. Specifically under DMT + Benzodiazepines (which needs to be created) at the top. Specify it was xanax. Also index it at the bottom under the benzodiazepines section. I would do it but it's nearly impossible from my phone. https://wiki.dmt-nexus.m...cts#Benzos.2FBarbituatesStay safe and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

No other substances at all, just water. I have smoked mullein many, many times with no adverse effects. Also, I don't think I can edit the Wiki as a "new member"

Have you smoked DMT by itself, in this same manner? You say you have smoked mullien by itself but have you done so in the same way? As in large amounts of mullien. If someone could elaborate how mixing DMT with anything could cause serotonin syndrome that would be appreciated. I didn't think DMT contributed to increased serotonin and have experience with people on ssri's taking dmt with no I'll effects. I have heard of people commenting on acrb containing an maoi. Is this the possible culprit? "Energy flows where attention goes" [Please review the forum Wiki and FAQ before posting questions]

Do you suffer with headaches like migraines? There are some animal Xanax studies which found some trends in their results which could be construed as suggesting (low dose)Xanax in rats could well raise serotonin; I dunno about humans though. But SS can occur with one serotoninergic agent alone or when combined with another such agent eg DMT plus (?)Xanax. Symptoms alone cannot make the diagnosis for sure, but a physical exam can confirm or refute it. I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

It is important to note that all of our bodies function differently to mixing psychoactives. In this case, I'm not qualified to say. I would imagine smoking a lot of enhanced leaf with mullein and taking 2g's of xanax will surely be unusual. You'd be best without mixing opposite substances. Especially benzodiazepines and DMT. With that combination, you are basically completely relaxing and entering extreme realms of flight and experience. Sounds like a confusing psychoactive combination with very little relation to each-other. Perhaps it could be helpful for those with anxiety towards DMT? 'What's going to happen?' 'Something wonderful.'
Skip the manual, now, where's the master switch?

I have heard of people commenting on acrb containing an maoi. Is this the possible culprit? Yes, I have. I once smoked about around 8 50mg doses back-to-back with no ill effects. I have also smoked massive amounts of mullein. I make herbal blends that I smoke constantly, all of them are about 50% mullein. corpus callosum wrote:Do you suffer with headaches like migraines?

Be careful. About 1.2g of enhanced leaf (1:1) was smoked. This combination was a learning experience. It is not something I am going to do again. Thank you for all of the input.

Sounds like the contrasting effects caused some dissonance dmt is a strong mental stimulant where as xanax is a depressant.

Sorry I don't have anything on the SS, but I was just curious as to why you would take xanax and DMT together?
A couple people have already mentioned that they do very different things chemically, but typically, a xanax taken before any psychedelic is going to reduce the effects of the psychedelic.
I guess I wouldn't want to decrease the effects of DMT...

I have seen people use this together without an issue, except that it greatly weakened the experience. Though the cases I am aware of didnt smoalk massive amounts of changa. At least you know your brains limits a little bit better.
If any part of this mix is bad, its probably the xanax.

I took the Xanax to combat a panic attack I was having, about an hour after taking it I was sitting around and just decided to have a Changa session. I didn't intentionally take the Xanax and the DMT together for fun, haha. My experiences were still QUITE strong even with the Xanax in my body. I was able to breakthrough with ease and still have powerful visuals.
