I too have a constant ringing in my ears. I can hear it right now as we speak. It has always been there. It doesn't bother me and I have learned to ignore it. Most of the time I don't even notice it until it is mentioned or it becomes very quiet. As soon as I inhale the first puff of DMT vapor, the ringing consumes all until it goes away and turns into a hovering sound for the remainder of the experience. Last night that hovering sound lasted until I feel asleep, well after my dose of DMT.

This sounds like tinitus..a ringing in ears..Ive had it for years..
It used to bother me untill i acepted it..now it normal to hear..
I can make it stop for 5 or 10 seconds by turning on a water faucet and listening to water run ...
If you worry about it it can cause distress.. accept it and it isnt noticed any more..
Another way is to wear noise canceling phones or ear buds...

Noise canceling phones or buds seems to amplify the sound for me. When there is silence, it is at its loudest.

This sound that I refer to is not the same as the tinnitus I sometimes experience. I understand that tinnitus comes in a myriad of different forms, but I'm fairly certain it's a different phenomenon altogether.

It seems to emanate from my entire brain rather than my ears themselves, and I always imagine it being akin to the noise/static generated by pretty much any electronic device (i.e a brain).

I only notice it when I remember it, or vary occasionally when it's very quiet and I'm trying to sleep.

By the way, in case anybody ever experiences tinnitus, I often find that meditation helps to remove it completely. Focus & tune into it, and it goes away (for milder bouts, at least...).

Look up anahata (unstruck) sounds.
Here it is - right now. Start thinking about it and you miss it. ~ Huang-po
