I've found that in the last few months I've had to be heavily reliant on claritin in order to not be congested/drippy/sneezing all day long.

Has anyone had allergy problems and know of any natural ways to treat them? I've heard about eating raw local honey and stuff.

Hello Sky Motion!

Yes, allergy season is fast approaching and it is important to be equipped with the right solutions. Forget the drugs and buy some Bee Pollen. Raw honey is good, too. Bee Pollen is highly and easily digestible, alkalizing, purifying, rejuvenating and energizing. It works by feeding your body the nutrients you need and enhancing the way your body functions. The energy it provides feels great! Bee Pollen is great for allergies because of its powerhouse, complete nutrition and immune-modulating effects that help your body to adapt to new stresses(such as allergies). I've been using it for about 2 years now and haven't experienced any negative effects. It is possible to be allergic to Bee products, though. Start low and slow and work your way up with each granule at a time. That is of course if you are interested.

You can find it at your local food market/store or Bee keeper. Very natural medicine and food!

Thumbs up

Black Seed Oil (nigella sativa) is supposed to be good for allergies.

I get the feeling it would synergize nicely with raw honey or bee pollen.Love

Nigella Sativa is incredible! I use it on a daily basis as an adaptogen, tonic and protective ally. 1/2 tsp is enough for desired benefits. I personally use ground black seed mixed with 1 spoonful of honey and take that, twice daily. It aids in the body's natural ability to balance key systems such as immune function, heart function/capacity, lung capacity/function, renal health, brain health, and so much more!

Be careful, though. Some of the greatest medicines are the greatest toxins.

Quercetin, (a flavinoid found in fruits and veggies) helps to control excessive histamine release. Take it in combination with bromelian and vitamin C.

Nettles are another good one.

Locally produced honey is the way to go. My grandmother used to mix goldenseal extract with saline as a nosespray. Redwine has some compounds in that help reduce allergies, and supposedly the herb butterbur has had some degree of success. Ive always used black elderberry for upper respiratory problems, which might help if the pollen is affecting your lung function, but im not sure how it would effect histamine levels...
