Hi there,

I have always been an agnostic, but never in my life (and I haven't tried DMT, yet) have I been so positive that there might be a lot more to life than just this experience here on earth, in this dimension.
I heard people ponder it might be a way for transitioning to where our souls came from, when we die.

This makes me wonder, though, if the brain releases DMT right before you die, what will happen when you are suffering from dementia or any loss of cognitive ability? Will you be freed from the shackles of your badly functioning physical mind? It might be better to tune out when you're still functioning properly...Wut?

What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts on the afterlife and how/if DMT has changed your perspective on the matter.

Oh, I just realized this might not be the best section for a question like this Embarrased
All your basic questions and answers, right Laughing ?

I'm very new here.. I'll gladly take my question elsewhere.

I have scrolled over it before but it consists of mostly practical information useful when you plan to actually do/extract it, and I am not planning to do that anytime soon. Ironically, that is why I kind of missed the point of the FAQ section Neutral My stupidity continues to amaze me.

I have watched a documentary called "Afterlife" and it basically is about a doctor who has compiled a bunch of peoples' NDE's (Near-Death Experiences) and studied them.

He didnt say anything about DMT, but he did say that people who are under general anestesia, or in other words, have a drug-induced 'blanket' over the brain stopping it from picking up the electrical signals that provide each of us our own perceived reality, well, these people still experience vivid NDE's and even can recall actions made by other people in the OR such as doctors and nurses, and these same patients can even report the actions of people in other parts of the hospital, actions that took place after the patient was already considered 'dead'.

so what I took from this was that your physical brain's operational ability in that split second it takes to die, doesnt seem to have any effect on the 'spiritual' experience humans have when they die.

fyi, he also noted that all true NDE's have very similar experience reports, the film was on Netflix if you're interested in it.

Here's something fun to think about:
When brain operational frequency drops you enter the different states like delta etc.
Well what happens when we do this?
Our normal rate of creation for time goes completely out of the window.
10 hours goes by in but a blink. Or on the other hand, extremely long periods are experienced by some as well.
Time isn't something that exists, its something we make up.
There is a reason why hyperspace/consciousness appears to be timeless and infinite.

So what happens during a natural death?
That frequency drops down to zero.
A frequency one only experiences at death, even if its temporary.
I am very interested what happens from say 1 cycle per second to zero.
What if it was possible to dilate time eternally?
What if we are given a choice? To hold on or to let go.

I believe herein lies the art to dying. I believe everything we do leads up to how we choose to handle this moment.

Maybe I'm wrong.

I have often contemplated this, and that^^^ seems to be the only way I can make sense of it as well.
It requires consciousness and senses to give definition and meaning to 'time' itself, therefore, time only exists inside our consciousness... right? Razz
also, keep in mind that everything that 'exists' in our human reality is essentially electromagnetic waves being 'transmitted' to all over the place interacting with infinitely many different 'receivers' (such as our human senses) and then those receivers dictate the way these electromagnetic waves are interpreted, or in our case, perceived, such as speed of time, physical position in space-time, ect..

I truly believe this is possible, in my opinion, the possibilities are literally infinite for us intelligent beings, even your most radical, off-the-wall ideas for where technology can potentially take us should be seriously considered as a future reality.

Putting any sort of limit on the possible evolution of our intelligence seems so backwards to me.

We have no other 'existence' to compare our 'existence' to. so next you start getting really deep into your head about some out-there idea and then stop because you think it is nonsense, ask yourself what it is exactly you are comparing it to, that would cause you to say that it could never be possible.... the future is now, and we need to make with it everything we want.

I couldn't agree more, I kind of feel that an individuals final 'resting' place, if you will, literally begins it's evolution the moment you open your eyes in this world, and everything you experience and do will in some way be reflected in your 'heaven', if you choose to call it that.

very interesting post, man

Further plot twist--
What if it's not just time that exists only within consciousness,
but also space, matter, the electromagnetic spectrum, and everything else we think exists as the observable and inobservable universe?

There is no outside or inside. No separation or division. All of this is just the way it is to us in this mode.

Gives rise to all kinds of possibilities and helps to explain the non-locality of consciousness experienced during NDE, OBE, and other related phenomenology. This is just the way I like to look at it.

“I've always been an ironic dreamer, unfaithful to my inner promises.
Like a complete outsider, a casual observer of whom I thought I was,
I've always enjoyed watching my daydreams go down in defeat.
I was never convinced of what I believed in.
I filled my hands with sand, called it gold, and opened them up to let it slide through.
Words were my only truth.
When the right words were said, all was done; the rest was the sand that had always been.”

coincidentally, that is basically the main idea behind Michael Talbot's "The Holographic Universe", and my chosen profile name on this forum.

there are some youtube interviews with Talbot as well, I would HIGHLY recommend you look into it, it is a very very very interesting and the most mind boggelling (sp?) read I have had in a long time.

**edit* I should probably warn you that book isn't a novel, it can get pretty technical but he lays it all out in a way that is easy to follow, all based on widely accepted scientific studies/theories.
