SWIM has been following cybs salt tek and numerous other teks on this site and he has found a few with varying information. Is using over 100grams or more of NaOH for basing really necessary? I thought the science behind it was to drive the pH from an acid 3-4 to a base of 12+ and as long as your mixture is black and a pH of 12+ you're good to go? Correct him if he's wrong but he is trying to make his NaOH last as long as possible.

Cybs tek calls for 50g of NaOH for 50g of root bark.

"A troop of elves smashes down your front door and rotates and balances the wheels on the after death vehicle, present you with the bill and then depart. And it's completely paradigm shattering. I mean, ya know, union with the white light you could handle. An invasion of your apartment by jeweled self dribbling basketballs from hyperspace that are speaking in demonic Greek is NOT something that you anticipated and could handle!' -T.M.

Use enough to get to pH 12+.
The amounts shown are overestimated so extractors without pH equipment can rest assured.
Surprisingly little is needed to reach the desired pH (depending on the dilution)

If it's black...you're good to go.

Extra NaOH also helps reduce the risk of emulsions. You can shake the bajeezers out of your vessel without worry Pleased

Thanks Cyb. I know when I initially stated the amount I was totally guessing. I have a pH meter and I only have to put in 28grams NaOH every 200 grams for my mixtures to turn black (ph 12.5+). I just have to stir the shit out of it to make it distributes evenly.

and kermit thanks. I don't normally have too many problems with emulsions.
