When can the police arrest you for extracting DMT?

Let's say I am about to separate the Naphtha from my jars when the police knocks on my door and tells me that I'm suspected for the manufacture of illegal drugs, so they're going to search my house.

If they find the jars, could they arrest me for possessing them? Or could I just tell them a "white" lie, that I'm separating the Fats, Alkaloids and Flavonoids. Because I'm going to make hand-cream with the fats, while the alkaloids and flavonoids are waste-products and is going in the bin.

Can they arrest you before you have made the pure DMT?

You can tell them whatever you want, and they can charge you how they want (if the evidence is present).
Doesn't matter if your story is believable, imo.

If they see chemicals and dried plant matter near each other, they will be inclined to charge someone for sure.

As soon as you order, harvest, grow, or possess "any material... which contains any quantity," of a scheduled substance, you have entered into a legally vulnerable area.



You don't make it, you extract it. And technically yes (it has happened before).

I had a tenant smell smoke and call the fire dept once. It was their imagination, but I can only imagine how bad it could have been if I had been working on anything at the time. They're allowed to kick your door in and look anywhere in the interest of safety.

Always be prepared for unexpected guests!

Well I was trying to use this lye, mimosa hostilis, and d-limonene to make soap, but I think I mixed it up wrong and accidently ended up with the key for interdimensional travel. Or you could always try I didn't know I couldn't do that.

On second thought not saying anything and asking for a lawyers probably your best bet.

This is probably not the best idea. At the point where you are raided by/dealing with LEO and they have your "lye, mimosa hostilis, and d-limonene," your best bet is to keep your mouth shut. Nothing you say will stop them from arresting you, you only add to the evidence against you by talking.

Ya sarcasm doesn't always come across well in text. Being raided is serious scary business. Its never happened to me but I have two friend I can think of off hand who've had their house raided or were at someone else's house when it happened. Waking up with a shotgun in your face or having your doors kicked in and your house torn apart by people wielding assault rifles sounds like nothing I ever want to experience. Be careful who you let in your house and who you let know your business.

The advice one of my friends was given by a lawyer is dont admit to anything and don't deny anything, just ask to speak to your lawyer. I hope none of us ever end up in this kind of situation, but its a good idea to know what to do if such events take place.
