Hey everyone i finally decided that i am going to try ayahuasca for the first time and I have some questions. I am looking for an intense experience, I am no stranger to psychedelics. I am debating between Diplopterys cabrerana and mimosa for the dmt portion of the ayahuasca. I have heard Diplopterys cabrerana is more intense, but I question its safety and neuro toxicity just because of our lack of knowledge on it. On the other hand though it is the more traditional of the two, and if i do ayahuasca I want to do it as traditionally as possible.

Thanks in advanced for your replies.
All my post are theoretical and if i refer to myself in terms like me or I, i am actually referring to a theoretical entity name me or I.

Well tradition just depends on location. I believe m. hostilis is used by some groups in a similar way as d. cabrarena. There are a plethora of other plants people use as well. Intensity of the experience in this case is more dose related than anything else. As far as I know there are no neurotoxic compounds in either of them.

If you ask me this boils down to whether you want to drink bark tea or leaf tea.

If you choose chaliponga just remember to know / test the strength of the batch and dose accordingly.

Brew at least 2x as much for if you purge too soon or just want more later.

Mimosa is not used in any way similar to chaliponga..it's not even an amazonian tree and it is not used in any amazonian ayahuasca traditions.

Diplopterys has been heavily documented as an ayahuasca admixure and chemical analysis has been published multiple times. There is no reason to assume any neurotoxic side effects.

Diplopterys and Jurema are different. Diplopterys lasts longer for starters, and is a somewhat more mental/stimulating experience.

Intensity is not just due to dose either. Chaliponga can be a more intense experience. it can be more loopy and darker, lasts longer and causes more people to sort of panic..none of those effects have ever made me feel like it's toxic. I have smoked chaliponga extracts many times, snorted chaliponga crystals, used them sublingually and many many times in brews. There is just something innate in the plant that is different.
Long live the unwoke.

I find chakruna to be very very gentle for the light portion of the brew. I never tried rootbark brew but some say it can be a very rough ride and have some darker sides to it. So if it came down to bark or chaliponga I'd go with chaliponga.
