I have a close friend. Actually really not me. He has been diagnosed by two doctors as having "marijuana induced psychosis". He lives in colorado and is from the Caribbean so you can imagine his difficulty stopping. His condition is accompanied by headaches in the morning which give way to voices and an onslaught of thoughts, ultimate conclusions based on ego, delusion and a need to express his experiences which are for even people used to listening to Terence McKenna impossible and worrisome. He mentions suicide often. Now obviously he needs to exparament more with not smoking. But he and I kind of think his diagnosis is a bit too simple and im not sure of how he is when he dosent smoke for a time. As of right now he and his father are communicating. But his father is up in arms about this and is asking for my help. What I have offered is support with not smoking with him for a while. If he cant start there I suppose I cant help much but I think also that blood sugar issues are at play. Before I reccomend microdosing mushrooms for the headachs (which sound like cluster variety) I think he needs to improve his diet and try not smoking weed for a while. Any input is much appreciated.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

If he has cluster headaches they are very signature, I'd tell him to research into it, however if he's not into research ask him where it hurts.
Cluster Headaches are caused by vaso-dilation on the TMJ Vessel (Right above the joint where your jaw meets your skull) and another vessel behind the eye (same side). What this feels like is a spike going through your TMJ and poking the back of the eye wedging it out of the socket. I also generally have muscle pain in my neck and back (specifically the rhomboid)

If he has these symptoms first, he should see a doctor to get an abortant pill such as Sumatriptan or Eletriptan (which is what I've been taking) Psychedelics work by preventing the headache, in my experience it hasn't ever aborted one of my headaches.

If you have any more questions about cluster headaches let me know!

Also, How old is he?
Creator help me live in a way that will make my ancestors proud.

Okay cool, thank you. I will suggest he ask his doc about abortants. This does sound like the area he describes. And I will have to talk with him more about the headach part. I think he has also experienced some trauma and I wonder if his headachs induce a ptsd kind of thing contributing to these episodes I spoke of. He will read some things if I send them to him too. He is about 30 years old.

Sorry to double post here but Muskogee in fact he has described the headachs as like pressure behind his face. It just struck a chord as I re read your post. Thanks again.

I don't think it would be advisable to give someone who possibly has a drug induced psychosis another type of drug that could induce psychosis itself. Also, could it be possible that your friend actually has schizophrenia that was brought to the surface by Cannabis use? This seems more likely than drug induced psychosis although the only way to be sure would for your friend to stop smoking.

And I completely agree with you powerfulmedicine. And im not giving him anything but information for the record. Im also thinking when I say microdosing, about nearly homeopathic amounts way below any felt threshold. This would be a very last resort being sensitive to the psychosis/ yes possibly schizophrenia.

I would strongly advise getting your friend to discontinue using cannabis as the most important step; the headache doesn't sound like cluster headache to me, and the clearly disordered thought processes mentioned are not typical of cluster headaches.

I know doctors can be wrong but I wouldn't dismiss the fact that two doctors feel the problems described are primarily cannabis-related.

Hope things improve for the OPs friend.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Thank you corpus callosum. Its refreshing to hear your thoughts. It sounds truly open minded and sound. Im really not all that sure if these episodes and the headachs are always associated? Another question for him I suppose. I understand that allergies could be used to describe why the cannabis may be doing this to him. I told him that I will stop smoking for a time in support of him stopping. I suggested an elimination diet too. Im sure he eats all the main food allergens all day. I am aware that allergies possibly have a huge emotional component? If he dosent want to do this than all I can do is be there for him. But if hes not going to do it than no one can help and it is really wearing on his family. I to will become impatient if he is complaining and at the same time not helping himself.
