evening all, i had been trying to register like for weeks, i guess the forum is on the other side of the globe and thats why my fridays are your saturdays.

me and my bro had been interested in dmt since forever, we even got some dmt frog which was real good, but since on the city the only thing we get is a yellowish messy goo i had been reading teks and stuff for several time and now i am trying to make my own nice crystals, but i have one hughe issue, i started the extraction with another friend who didnt took the time to translate the handbook and used industrial naphtha (the one used for paint and other stuff) didnt messured anything and went straight for a kilo altought i told her it was a bad idea, now nothing came from freeze precipitation and i tried to help her using a restaurant freezer, then tried to evaporate and nothing happened, also this naphtha-stuff-i-dont-know-what-really-is doesent burn, since i made a test with like a spoon of this thing, also used distilled rice vinegar on another test and nothing came up, it only splited as if it was water and oil.

i am thinking that nothing has been pulled with this pseudo naphta or everything is trashed because its still a solvent.

i have pics of everything if it helps, but i am asumming there is no answer for this.

It may take some practice to get good results, even any results. Patience is a good thing, when mixing polar/nonpolar, when freeze precipitating, in general when learning how to extract.

Maybe your plant soup wasn't basified enough or you did not leave enough time for the dmt to get freed from the plant cells. Some plants give the goodies freely, others need more time and convincing.

Maybe your naphta did not get enough dmt in to get saturated, making it harder to get crystals to precipitate in a freezer.

Maybe the naphta contains a lot of aromatics, like benzene, toluene and/ or xylene, causing the freeze precipitation to fail.

Maybe you could try again with the basic plant soup after adding copious salt and sufficient lye. You cannot overdo with salt, if it stops dissolving it will be a mixing aid when you shake the soup with the naphta. 100 grams of lye per liter of plant soup helps break down plant material and free the dmt from cells, and also helps to prevent emulsions. If the soup and naphta are warm (handwarm, not hot) the naphta will be more efficient at absorbing freebase.

In any case, next time at least first check the quality of the naphta you are planning to use. Evaporate a few drops on a clean surface to see if it contains non-volatile impurites. Check MSDS for the presence of aromatics. Best naptha is hydrogenated and low on aromatics. Try looking in any shops that cater to artists/painters (be careful not to buy the pine-based turpentine though). The industrial stuff is more likely to contain aromatics, to improve dissolving/cleaning power. It is also more likely to contain involatile crud.
