My question isn't about elves, hidden passageways, and confusion. My question lingers in the area of truth. I honestly might be way off beat and please put me in my place if i am. BUT..why doesn't this forum promote absolute truth? We all know how it feels to breakthrough. We all know that drugs can ruin a life. We all know DMT smells like math.

My question is why is DMT promoted as breakthrough breakthrough breakthrough? Why can't it just be enjoyed as the beauty it is? i feel like so many new comers are searching and just trying to breakthrough because of the things they read here.. When the real truth is all in their mind. Maybe it's just my own personal realization.

You can drive yourself crazy trying to "breakthrough". You can let anxiety scare you when you're taking that third hit. You can believe anything you want when your ears are ringing and that non-existent woman is whispering in your ear sitting right next to you.

The truth is, you're smoking a drug. I don't feel like anyone should come here looking for some escape. We all have to live this life, most of us just like to explore more than your regular joe.

Basically, don't worry about breaking-through and experiencing something you've imagined. It's much deeper than that. Smoke, learn, and ENJOY.

Hello fellow Nexus friend!

You make important points regarding safety in using DMT(and all other psychoactives) and not allowing it to be your dependence for meaning towards personal, universal meaning. I agree that it is not entirely. In fact, nothing can be and everything is, simultaneously.

Self-realization, self-exploration, self-discovery and so on so forth; it is apart of it all! Internal and external networks working in balance. Your life choices, perceptions, etc are your responsibilities and moment of opportunity.

Listen and acknowledge. Be in what you see. To know is to unknow. And of course to enjoy! Thumbs up

Probably because the mere existence of such a thing is debatable.

I don't understand what you're getting at with this post... The reason breakthrough experiences are discussed so much on this forum is because most of the members feel that their breakthrough experiences are the ones that they have enjoyed and benefited from the most, so that is primarily what they seek. How does this not constitute "enjoying it as the beauty it is"? And furthermore, if breaking through does not constitute "enjoying [DMT] as the beauty it is" then what does?

I actually like the way DMT smells, but I work in an industry where we smell much much nastier things than that. Maybe it's just a learned response or bias Very happy

I'm glad you are enjoying your experience with the spirits. However, some of the most rewarding experiences in life are not necessarily enjoyable. If you are simply seeking pleasure then I see what you mean by:
"The truth is, you're smoking a drug. I don't feel like anyone should come here looking for some escape. We all have to live this life, most of us just like to explore more than your regular joe."

DMT is an anti-escape. DMT forces us to confront the most fundamental forces in the universe, which should bring a regular joe to his knees (I know it did for me). For me, entheogens are hardly "drugs" as in the common sense. Entheogens always provide me satisfaction in the long term: they connect you with the things you cannot experience through your rational brain and you end up better than you were before you did them. Entheogens do not always provide me pleasure in the short term. I think other classes of drugs are different: they provide immediate pleasure, but in the long term reduce ones satisfaction...

I challenge you to consider your definition of "absolute truth". The more you try rationalize the more questions you end up with.

I think a reasonable truth for dmt is that: it is one molecule that reacts with another set of complex molecules that calls itself a human and creates infinitely possible experiences - based on what the organized set of molecules "thinks and/or believes".
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

I don't think it smells bad Razz
I don't think it smells strange.

I think it's more of inhaling data, than smelling. But I guess they're the same thing.
Thought I think differently when smelling poop.

I let my girlfriend smell my spice container, she said it smells like azz.

Hurt muh feelingz, she did!

I disagree. The breakthrough is not what its all about and many members preach to new comers that focusing on breakthrough isn't the way to go. Instead new users should just explore all the depths that DMT has to offer and let the breakthrough come naturally. Or just smoalk moar.

I rather enjoy the low dose non breakthrough experiences, just as much as the breakthroughs. Different tokes for different folks.

The other problem is that a lot of times new users striving for a breakthrough end up dosing too large or wasting a good amount of DMT in the process. Better to take your time and not worry too much about having a breakthrough. It will happen.

I fully agree, hence the emphasis on the word "primarily" in my earlier post. Wink

I discovered it was super easy to breakthrough with white crystal DMT. It was less easy to breakthrough with full spectrum A. confusa goo. And if I haphazardly mixed the goo with peppermint leaves in hopes of making quick and dirty vape-able substance what I end up with is stuff that isn't good for breaking through but you can feel.

So what do you do with a leafy substance that contains DMT but is very hard to breakthrough with? For me the answer is simple and wonderful. Incorporate it into regular meditation practice! Even without a breakthrough it seems to deepen the experience exponentially, allowing you sessions that leave you completely clear (normally taking 45+ minutes), and compressing it down to 20 minutes or so (5 minutes pre-, 5 minutes peak, 10 minutes dreamy meditation state).

Light experiences seem to do WAY more to help me in daily life than breakthroughs. I think micro-dosing aya and really small dose vaping is incredibly undervalued. Most seem to want an otherworldly experience every single time they do this stuff, but in my experience, low dose experiences are far, far more valuable for daily living.

I don't really agree with categorizing it as a 'drug' for this reason. It's more like an activity, akin to meditation. Like how listening to binaural beats and shape the way you think and feel, so can this.

Truth is accepting this is actually a spiritual way of life and hardly a drug at all.

Thank you all for the responses. I gained a lot of insight and you all make very great points. After re-reading my post, i can see how it is hard to understand what point i was trying to get across.

As you can see, the date of the original post was St. Patricks day and i had a few too many green beers, came home and decided to rant here for some reason. Embarrased

It is rather difficult to accept the fact that the more you know, the more questions you have, and in turn you realize you actually know very little. Personally, this is very humbling.

By no means did i mean DMT smells bad when i said it smells like math. I was more referring to the data intake as explained by topherfoster . Oh well, i will continue to explore and learn as much as possible while i still am able to. Unfortunately, i will be moving to another country and job position this year where it will be too risky to continue extractions and sessions. None the less, i will mentally take my experiences with me and continue to view the world in the most positive way i can.

Nothing but love for you all.
