Not an acacia I'm quite sure. Flowers of acacias are usually ball or rod shaped. The seeds will be in pods as well, as Acacias are legumes. I'm not sure what you have.. a Melaleuca maybe.
You seem to be on the right track, as the leaves you have found look similar to Acacia phyllodes/leaves. Keep an eye out for trees/bushes covered in small yellow flowers. Check the acacia ID thread for distinguishing features.

Performing a third hot naptha pull. Thinking of adding more NaOH to see if that helps.

No, i was hopeing someone could help me out with that region as im very inexperienced at identifying plant subtypes. I figured i can try a leaf pull, followed by a trunk bark pull(it was peeling off so i grabed some). And mabey a pull on the twigs. See if it got me anywhere.

And thanks warriorVery happy
Figure even if it dosnt contain goodies ill be getting good practice in.

It doesn't look like an Acacia to me, the tree seemed to have true leaves with a petiole running all the way along. Most phyllodes don't have that single petiole.

Get rid of that plastic bottle and find something made of glass.

The petiole is the part of the leaf which joins to the stem of the plant and runs all the way to the tip of the leaf.

A phyllode is not a true leaf, it is a modified petiole that has flattened out. So if you look at the structure of a phyllode it will generally have more than one rib or line that runs along its length.

Comparing that to the structure of a true leaf you will see that the leaf has a single rib (which is the petiole) that runs along the length of it with many smaller lines or rib like structures that emanate from the petiole in a diagonal fashion.

If you look at this image you can see a cross section of a phyllode and all the striations run along the length of it. Typically a leaf will just have the petiole running all the way its length.
