Hi all, SWIM was thinking of doing a cold water extraction of mimosa root bark.

A friend of SWIMs has enjoyed vaped DMT on a weekly basis for the past year but would now like to extend the experience. The problem is he takes an SSRI for depression and so can't take an maoi such as harmine/harmaline which would be required in order to potentiate an Aya/pharma trip.

My question is, since CWE does no require taking a seperate MAOI to be effective, would my friend be able to take a mimosa CWE safely while on SSRI medication or not?

If not, then what is the best way for someone on SSRI's to have a longer DMT-like experience?

well i believe what makes a CWE active (yuremamine) does so because it acts as a MAOI.

i don't think it would be any safer, but i am far from an expert.

it might be best to play it safe and err on the side of caution

Perhaps yuremamine acts as an MAOI, being metabolically protected itself through intra-molecular hydrogen bonding of its tertiary amine, or perhaps acts as a prodrug and releases DMT closer to its site of action."

So according to wiki, no one knows whether yuremamine is an MOAI or not. In that case the only sensible thing to do is avoid mixing yuremamine and SSRI medication.
