Details:
Slightly modified Noman's tek.
50g MHRB
51g Lye
750ml distilled water
~30 ml VM&P Naphtha per pull
warm bath in sink for sludge and naphtha
3 pulls into one baking dish
Freeze precipitated
naphtha poured out through coffee filter
tray of crystals left to evap for a week! (no fan used)


I know quite a bit of actives went to waste as I was getting a mix of frustration with the turkey baster and paranoia. I only did 3 quick pulls. Each pull a thin layer (maybe 2 or 3 mm) of naphtha was left. Being my first time I was just all sorts of nervous. Even so, I wasn't expecting as much as i got. I KNOW I can get better yields next as I'll be calmer and more at ease not being the trial run. My confidence is a bit higher.

The result:
321mg (in pic, paper was pre-weighed to be 768mg)
~60% clean looking crystals and 40% reddish brown goo intermixed with crystals.

I found this scraping step to be rather... therapeutic. Amazed to see how the super thin clear looking layer that I thought was just proto-crystals scraped up into a reddish-brown crystal and goo mix.

I looked forward to the next time as I plan to incorporate the salting step from Cyb's teks. Going to take my time and do more pulls. I also want to use a fan this time with the try on it's side for the evap.

I have a few questions if I may:

This red-brown stuff is ok right? It looks like stuff I've seen on this forum, so I should be good. I know I'm sort of answering my own questions, but again, it's my first time and a little reassurance goes a long way as I'm sure you all can attest.

Should I recrystallize? I'm not too concerned if this is deemed to be good stuff.

Awesome work!

Though I don't see the pic you referred to.

As long as you followed the TEK, used clean chems, and were very careful, you're DMT should be good to smoke. I personally prefer not to re-x DMT.

On another note, did you keep the Naphtha and base solution?
I suspect there's more DMT in either the Naphtha or base solution.

You might try doing one+ pull with 100mL of Naphtha, evaporate it down to 1/3 or less of its original volume, then try a freeze percip.

Or do one+ pull with d-limonene and fully evaporate it.

I'm guessing you might get 0.5g more out.

No, I don't have the mimosa mud or the used naphtha. had a paranoia spell. LOL I feel like I've been so dramatic in hindsight! You can read about that in a previous thread of mine.

I do have everything though to do more extractions.


Happy to report I took some ganja and wiped up the milky film that was left in the corner where the big bunch of xtals came from. Made my heart beat noticeably harder, but not much faster. I felt a tingle in the back of my neck and that weird tingle almost like coming up on shrooms. No visuals but a nice pretty euphoric slightly trippy but very coherent head space. Very nice for a micro dose I guess Tasted like powdered chocoalte, but not sure how much the herb influenced this.

Thanks wearepeople I have developed this habit of looking up the reports of those who have replied in my threads that I haven't read yet. Usually there is something VERY relatable or profound to me. SO off I go to look yours up if any.

I really don't recommend anyone try this. D-limonene does not evaporate clean. Whatever is left will contain a lot of dehydrated D-limo residue, which would then have to be removed. Xylene and toluene would pick up everything that D-limo would, but they evaporate clean.

Let the base sit 24 hours before first pull and you will only need 2. Also your using WAY to much lye, I dont understand why people want to take such a risk....

500ml water + 50 gr of organic bark only needs 10 grams of lye to raise ph to 13.

If you have any emulsions forming use rock-salt to break them, DO NOT ADD EXTRA LYE.

Lye always gives me the creeps, sorry...



Except that they smell like working with the devils urine, go for limonene and salt it out, it smells great and non toxic in small amounts.

What risk??

It's true that you don't need very much lye to reach desired pH levels (dependent on it's dilution in any given amount of water)

There is no danger in using lye if you follow safety protocols (gloves, not splashing etc)
It is roughly the same pH as household bleach !

Also it has been shown here, many times, that adding salt and extra lye (+heat,) to an emulsified mix, proves Very effective.

There is really no need to be scared of lye...it is a household product and is quite safe if used correctly.
