Says: Acidify
1. Transfer material to your glass extraction vessel and add a small amount of distilled vinegar OR ascorbic acid (vit C) OR citric acid to a minimal amount filtered water (approx 50ml) and the pour into the vessel.
A target pH of 2-4 is desirable....

My question: is it the combined material and 50ml that has a target of ph 2-4....?
Or do i make the 50ml to ph 2-4, and then add that to the material...?

I understand that it probably makes minor diffrence, but i really want to make it Perfect.

I think 50ml of vinegar. If you use citric acid a pinch added to 50ml water and added slowly until bark soup is ph 2-4. A pinch goes a long way.
Marijuana, LSD, psilocybin, and DMT they all changed the way I see

Just cover your bark with water (+1" ) and add around 50ml of vinegar. That will do it.
See HERE
Refer to the previous salt tek for pictures.

Thanks for Your quick replys.
I am doing an extracktion on 150g acrb and had to add 450ml of filtered water before starting to freeze/Thaw..(hac to add a little more than 300-400ml because of the density)

Ok.the thing is that im using hcl. So can i add drops of that into 50ml filtered water until it reaches ph 2-4, and then combine it With the material?? wont the ph be off when poured into the mix?

I guess its the point to make the Whole mix at ph 2-4 ,not just the 50ml of filtered water??...the same aproach as you sugested With the citric acid skoobysnax ..

And cyb..one more question...
Salinate (adding salt)
3. Add apprx1 litre of Salt solution (using HOT filtered water) to the acid soak. {more if the initial bark material is greater than 100g}
Using appx.70-80g of NaCl (Salt), first dissolved in minimal hot filtered water (approx 200ml) and topped up to make final amount

My extraction is 150g acrb..would 1200ml of filtered water and 90g of NaCl be ok?

I used this tek last time and got over 2% yeild and want to say thanks for that at the same timeThumbs up
(I will coment on the yeild i get, and put in some picktures as well)

I read lastnight here on the nexus(some thread) that HCl was not recomended for acacia extractions...is that a fact?

Weak acids are also buffers. Strong acids do not share this property. The pH may wander without a buffer because you are fighting a lot of variables, (things like CO2(g) dissolving from air to form carbonic acid, etc).

If you have access to HCl and a pH meter, the rule of thumb is to pick a buffer with pKa of +/- 1 pH unit away from your target pH. A few common pKa's are as follows:

Phosphoric 2.12
Formic 3.75
Ascorbic 4.10
Acetic 4.75
Carbonic 6.37

Choosing carbonic acid for a target pH of 2-4 is therefore not the best choice. But starting with a small amount of ascorbic acid and lowering pH to 2-3 by slowly titrating HCl will likely hold the target pH for more time than you need, and you get the benefit of controlling this variable.
