I have meditated for a couple of years with no profound experiences, but when i took Ayahuasca, and the Curandero cleansed my doors of perception, i somehow got in contact with Avalokiteshvara who showed me how to breathe properly. This led me to the conclusion/realization/perception that Atman (Me) = Brahman (Everything); combined with the feeling of 1000 petals of a lotus opening like a crown on my head. I didn't even know who Avalokitashvara was, nor was i relizing that i was listening to his Mantra (Om Mani Oadme Hum) everyday for weeks before the Aya ceremony. Yes, it changed everything related to that. I don't sit anymore, except when i am on tryptamines. I do zen-like empty mind breathing exercises whenever i feel like it. Usually when walking or cleaning or doing something (painting works like a charm). It has become effortless, its more like an state of beeing, than an activity.

Can you elaborate on your breathing technique? Also do you still feel those petals waving above your head, or an emptiness/hole at their center? I've had kundalini effects like what you describe in my meditations after tryptamine binges, they became so distracting I had to stop sitting and now I just use entheogens, and use mild sedatives to tone down the shakti. It's hard for me to maintain the no-mindedness when I'm not engaging in some routine physical activity, I'm not sure how to flow instinctually when it comes to complex tasks. When the mind stops if I'm not distracted by action a sort of panic creeps in, like I feel I need my thoughts to keep my consciousness attached to the scene before me. Can you maintain this state during conversation and at work? Any advice you have on maintaining emptiness would be more than helpful and greatly appreciated. I've come to the conclusion that you have to live a monasterial life to be truly and permanently present, and thats the root of the householder/renunciate division in classical yoga. I think meditation and yoga and tantric practices are very useful and beneficial..however I also find the idea that they can be a substitute for psychedelic experiences pretty absurd. IME they are not substitutes. Both are unique in they're value. They pair together very well, but one cannot fill the in the gap in the absense of the other..that is just my opinion though. Long live the unwoke.

Wow this post ment a lot to me. I wrestle with thoughts like what Dreamer was outlining but over all I agree with the conclusion that this post comes to. Also I am very interested in what Ryusaki had to say on the matter.
