I've been invited for my 2nd ayahuasca ceremony, this time, in a not toooo cold place, as in my first time, the cold wouldn't let me concentrate (I think). I am hopefully taking my girlfriend and a good friend of mine who wants to meet with himself!
I read about the diet one should have before the ceremony, and now I just don't understand. Before the first ceremony I was told to:
Diet some days before
No pig
No grease food
No acid (lemon, orange,etc...)
No milk
Low sugar
Low salt
Lots of water
No sex
No alcohol
No drugs
(ladies on their "moon" should not attend)

Some here say diet is not necesary, what about my friend having addiction to marihuana?
When should be the last time to smoke before aya?

I believe dieta above and beyond a 6 hour empty stomach scenario is not necessary when embarking upon exploration outside of a container as presented/held by a shaman or some other ceremony leader. When you're subjecting yourself to a ceremony established by beings that have been in that tradition for years, I would think that honoring such requests would be in the best interest of all beings involved. When exploring as an individual or with friends, then I would believe you can do whatever you want, however, wherever, whenever, ETC.

I would stop smoking at least 24 hours before, 72 IF POSSIBLE. If your friend is addicted, I would seriously think that pushing him/herself to be as clean as possible pre ceremony would be a good idea.

From my experience, which has so far only been with smoking various DMT Batches from various plant sources; I have found that being tired but rested helps me go Further.

and as for the fasting dieta, I believe it is so there is less compounds in your blood, ie salts and sugars minerals, acid alkaline.

not sure if its so more dmt can enter the blood, or so the dmt sits/travels better/longer in the purer blood?

or something.

The diet is very important if you are thinking about taking ayahuasca. Ayahuasca contains MAO inhibitors and if these are combined with tyramine you might get VERY high heart rate (approximatly maximum pulse) and high blood pressure among other symptoms.

People have died from consuming MAOI and tyramine rich food so it's a good idea to follow the diet wich contain little tyramine.

Some food will make you seriously sick, if you eat them to soon before a ceremony!
like blue cheeses and red wines.

Even could kill you.

medicines or drugs could react and cause body failure.

I have been told that its not absolutely necessary to do a full Shaman Diet;

which I have read consists mostly of rice and water.
an ayahuascero told me he had eaten rice and chicken many times with a shaman, earlier before ceremonies


Do Study

Even milk in the days before an ayahuasca gives me a headache during the experience. I agree with others on here that ayahuasca, by virtual of containing reversible maoi inhibitors, is generaly safer than pharam maoi when it comes to food interactions but I still see virtue in the food restrictions before and a few days after. Good luck.

Also, if someone is feeling addicted to marijuana, maybe it is time to kick that habit or reflect deeply on why they feel dependent on it? It is better to be in control of your own life rather than have a drug in control of your life in my opinion, no matter how benign the drug is.

How went your 'psycotria viridis' ?
I here Cuttings from mother plants can be hard to grow, like a cannabis cutting.
I don't think psycotria viridis' is good for making DMT crystal, but perfect for Yage brews

As for the psicotria leaf cuttings, they were brought from miami to bogota since I couldn't find a reliable source over here, and shamans and indians are a bit selfish talking about this and offer no help in the process of growing the plant.
3 months after the cuttings have rooted, and planted in soil, nothing had happened, until I came back from a 15 day trip.
When I left, I watered my cuttings, and besides, I left a big crystal quartz in the center of the pot, which I programmed with, love, growth, evolution of the plant and to help me in my spiritual evolution....
I came back 3 days ago, just to notice 3 out 6 plants were growing, and the tallest is about 3 inches! Wow that's unexpected!
So that's the story of my plants... And yes, crystal quartz helps alot, and if anyone else wants to try it out, just get some quartz, clean them in running water or sea salt, charge them in moon or sun light, and program them an set your intention!
Remember the key is.... Love and thankfulnessssss!
