WOW Mimosa man! Thank you. The math sections loose me and i am always in awe genius talents of so many scientists. I love the descriptions wrapping up results and mathematical theories!
There was a part that sounds very much to me like the implications could mean plants have quantum batteries or maybe capacitors.
"We have also illustrated how in our prototype dimer with biologically relevant parameters, exciton–vibration dynamics can lead to non-exponential excitonic energy distribution whereby dissipation into a low-energy thermal bath can be transiently prevented. From this view, coherent vibrational motions that do not relax quickly and whose fluctuations cannot be described classically may be seen as an internal quantum mechanism controlling energy distribution and storage. Further insights into the advantage of these non-trivial quantum behaviour may therefore be gained in a thermodynamic framework"
Low energy thermal bath to me sounds like heat. By catching a certain part of quantum energy from light it prevents exposure from turning into heat. It catches it in vibrations at the subatomic (quantum) level. Them stating "...coherent vibrational motions that do not relax quickly..." is storage. Shortly after a nice succinct "...quantum mechanism controlling energy distribution and storage." Quantum controlled energy distribution! In plant. That's amazing. My head comes up with tons of theories/interpretations.
