Hi y'all --
First, I would like to say I feel lucky to have stumbled upon this forum as it appears to be run by very well-intentioned and intelligent folk. That being said, I am eager to soak up as much information as possible as quickly as I can. It has become clear to me over the past several months that the spiritual journey I have been seeking will lead me to South America soon. Hopefully, while there, I will be able to personally experience and learn about the cultivation & preparation of traditional ayahuasca teas.
Currently I am a student in a Master's of Nursing program at UT Austin. Once this semester is complete and I have passed my NCLEX, I plan to continue my spiritual quest that began in 2001. While I have always kept my spiritual motivations close to the surface, I hope this new journey may more fully begin to integrate my spiritual and professional lives.
I feel that hallucinogens could one day play a part in how we, as a society, approach death. Hospice care can be so useful for the dying and their families, and I hope to be one of the first researchers to investigate ayahuasca use in the final months of life. However, I know I have much to learn before that dream can become a reality, and hopefully this site will serve as a springboard to move me along this trajectory!
