I didn't consume any form of DMT. I was lying on my bed in a meditative state trying to gain astral travel experience. Then a random thought came to my mind: "Let's see aliens!".

IMMEDIATELY I was pulled upwards and the room changed to some small dim yellow one. I started to hear a clear tone very similar to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suAUjBP59_A

In the middle of the room there was this typical grey alien. Large black slant eyes. It didn't look at me as if it didn't even know I was approaching but it was standing perfectly still like some insect.

When I felt being pulled to the alien I felt strong similarities to a DMT breakthrough. I had no idea it would be so easy to contact the aliens I was scared to death. I immediately started thinking in full panic mode: "CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL! BACK TO MY BODY! I WAS ONLY KIDDING I DON'T WANT TO REALLY SEE THE ALIENS!". It took enormous effort to overpower the pulling process with my own willpower but I managed to return to my body. I was lying there for a while completely sleep paralysed and scared. Later that day I was afraid to fall asleep so I kept awake for the whole night :S

Anyone else experienced something like that? I'm no alien expert, I don't even know what to think of them but I like astral travel, after all it's more awesome and cheaper than vaporizing DMT Very happy

Well, I'm not sure if this is astral traveling but it was definitely an OBE.

I was reading a book and per usual I get extremely tired so I took a nap. I woke up several times and the last time I "woke" I rushed down stairs to go to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and saw that my eyes were almost glued shut by eye goop. It was gross.

Then I woke up again... I had that "high" feeling which is the feeling after I come back to my body after leaving it.

Anyway, I had a kitty that ran outside during the storm the other day and was gone for two days. I didn't think I was going to see her again... but she came back and her eyes looked like they had 2nd degree frost bite. It was bad. Anyway, I took care of her and she's doing better but her eyes looked just like mine in the mirror while I was out of my body. Very odd.
Oh my god. I broke it. I broke reality.

That sounds quite scary really haha. I too have been attempting lately to try astral projection. Of course, after some reading, and one subtle warning on one site, which said 'Some believe that demons can posess you while youre astrally projcting...but dont worry! Its not true!'

Im not one to believe everything I read without further investigating, and Im not particularly a believer in demonic entities as Im not religious, but it got in the back of my head and its just sitting there, tapping away lol. I wish I hadnt read that.
"A troop of elves smashes down your front door and rotates and balances the wheels on the after death vehicle, present you with the bill and then depart. And it's completely paradigm shattering. I mean, ya know, union with the white light you could handle. An invasion of your apartment by jeweled self dribbling basketballs from hyperspace that are speaking in demonic Greek is NOT something that you anticipated and could handle!' -T.M.

Thanks for great replies! Some people like to categorize different OOBEs but I have come to a conclusion that this is pointless. How can you judge the subjective experience that another person is having? It's pretty much the same as saying "according to what most people say they experienced during an LSD trip, you didn't take LSD". Assumptions like that lead me to think that these bookworms read a lot but have little practical experience.

So, let's keep it simple. Astral travel = you are out of your body, controlling some ethereal body of yours, you can move around, fly AND most of the things in your room are the same as they were in the physical world. Also, you can switch planes with a mere thought as I did when I requested to see the aliens.

But now I reveal the truth that would make someone say "this was not astral travel".
My astral body does not emit light. This means that when my room is dark then my astral travel experience is also dark. I've been in that state for nearly 10 times now and these rules have always applied. I'm not worried because during the time I have experimented on mind altering substances I have noticed that my trips are always different than what most people describe. This has lead me to an opinion that you can't really compare such experiences with other people and then judge by the description. Some people just experience things differently.

My personal suspicion is that my consciousness it of some alien race that has chosen to reincarnate as a human being on Earth because for my whole life I have felt as if I don't really belong here. If anyone has seen 3rd Rock from the Sun then that is like a hardcore version of the difficulties that a non human consciousness would face on Earth Very happy

I've had a similar experience--very similar in fact.Lying in bed, heard the tone, pulled upwards, saw a grey, felt weirded out and shocked to see an alien right there, just standing there, willed myself back into body.

Funny thing is this happened to me only a few months before my first dmt experience. Still, it was not until a good 12 years later--and many dmt experiences later, before I saw the similarity to a dmt breakthrough.

Dmt--never aborted a dmt trip. Back when sleep paralysis was common for me I would usually get bugged out and abort the experience. Lack of phantasmagoria--the dmt is usually all crazy and stuff--these OBE's were always a bit plain, by comparison. I never saw much similarity between OBE and DMT until I heard the tone on DMT and realized that it was the same/similar to the tone that I always get with OBE...

Anyway--it seems that you basically realised a similarity between the two experiences right away. How is that? You mention 'dmt feeling'--so it was like dmt head-space to you, or what?

I appreciate your perspective.

High dose DMT sometimes does cause an alien abduction experience.

Strassman encountered this in his "spirit molecule" tests and ultimately never confirmed the spirit molecule hypothesis and terminated the experiment out of compassion for his subjects because the alien abduction experiences were horrifying.

This sounds like a DMT-like experience to me.

Some claim the greys are not extra-terrestrial but extra-dimensional beings that are essentially demons. Very interesting stuff.

I think what you guys call grey aliens were called mares and alps in former times. Hence the name night-mare. Or the corresponding translation "Albtraum" (dreaming of alps) in German.

I made that realization because a month earlier I accidentally took 3x the amount of a normal DMT dose by vaporizing it. This took me so far away that I was scared to death and afraid that I would have to remain there for the eternity. I got this overwhelming Deja Vu feeling and fear based thought "That's it, now I'm finally gone too far, totally out of my comfort zone and anything can happen to me now, even death."

At the moment of being pulled away by the alien I immediately started to feel vast fear because I recognized the body feel that occurred during the breakthrough to this utterly weird place on my last DMT trip/overdose. I also got the typical DMT buzz in my head and the tone made it all come together. Everything in that room I was transferred to looked similarly unearthly to DMT trip. I knew that DMT alone can be horrific but add grey aliens to the formula and it has a potential to bring the terror to a whole new level Very happy

So, simply put, I just recognized the good old DMT kicking in Very happy can't explain that. Body feel + visuals + fear of recognition = must be DMT. Although visuals were the least similar to DMT because they also included a bit of haziness of typical OOBEs.

Ever since that experience I have gained access to astral travel on demand almost every day. Although I'm still a bit afraid of being pulled to scary places I immediately concentrate on love and happy things when getting to the astral world and so far I haven't been pulled away again. I am still having trouble with moving around in the astral world like a baby who just learns to walk or something. The DMT similarities are always there, however, they were by far the strongest during the alien encounter.

My usual astral experiences include the fact that the walls - such they be - are crawling with geometric hallucination (not sure if in astral world or immediately after waking up from the astral experience).

Some other similarities with DMT trips are the fact that certain objects in the astral dimension are completely different than their physical world counterparts. For example I have books on a shelf in my room but in astral world there are magazines instead Very happy and the magazines keep changing their covers randomly after every what-feels-like-a-second.

I'm amazed how real all the touching senses are in the astral world. Sometimes invisible female hands grasp my hand or feet and either start pulling these or just touch me in a pleasant way and this is 100% the same level of reality as in physical world you would hold someone's hand.

This may or may not interest you as it's somewhat offtopic:
I don't practise closed eyes meditation very often because it's somewhat boring. However, I have discovered that when you stare at the same spot for long time thinking of nothing and not blinking your eyes then the walls start to wobble similarly to LSD and DMT experiences. I've been doing this a lot and I have noticed improvements, and this may be important: I have noticed that my ability to see the wobble in the space and matter has improved over time in a way that I can get to the point of wobble quicker. Is it my pineal gland's ability to produce DMT on demand? I don't know, but it sure is interesting.
