Once upon a time I spent a lot of time travelling in the realms of fuzzy shadows. Every visit was a revelation and I was always left with a nice sense of clarity.

And then life happened. Years passed with only fond memories of observing the great beyond. Things got complicated and I forgot what that clarity was like.

Now, things are simpler. I've been stripping all the things out of my life that make me unhappy, focusing on the things and people that make me better. It's time to clear the cobwebs and see if what's behind the veil is still as beautiful as I remember.

...

In a less prosaic sense, I'm not new to this world, but it's been a very long time. One of the nice things about the world getting smaller is that we've got access to some amazing tools for expanding a person's brain. I've been reading quite a bit about all our "new" plant based friends and I'm excited to learn what they've got to teach. Hopefully I'll be able to add something to the community.

Welcome to the Nexus Frankenbeans! Smile

I hope you find what you're looking for here and renewing ones acquaintance with what lies beyond 'the veil' after a long hiatus will probably afford you a different perspective that comes with a life lived in the interim.

Has DMT crossed your path before?

Once more, welcome aboard.

I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I'm hoping for a different perspective. It's been about 10 years since my last experience, and almost 20 since I did it with any frequency.

I've not had any experience with DMT, but something about what I've read really calls to me. Historically my experience has been with what I consider synthetics (MDA, MDMA, highly processed LSD, or other strange mixes of things). LSD has always been my favorite because of the headspace it puts me in, and the residual creativity it left behind.

To reacquaint myself with the psychedelic space I did a simple CWE on some HBWR. Not enough that the walls would melt, but just enough to tweak those parts of my brain that get a little louder in that realm. It was a little bit sad, but good, and it worked well to remind me that these kinds of experiences are valuable.

That being said, I'm looking for some advice. Back in the day I was usually the guide on trips. It always kept me grounded in the experience to help people get into the right frame of mind and stay there comfortably. I fully intend on doing the full blown shamanistic experience, purge and all, it's an important part of the event. However for more regular experiences I would like to avoid as much of the bad body load (ie nausea and vomiting) as possible. When I'm working on my sculptures or painting I really prefer to *not* be reminded of my body. Smile

Any suggestions for an older experienced guy like myself that would fit that bill?

If you want nausea/purging, go the route of ayahuasca. If you want slightly less of a chance of nausea/purging, go the route of extracted pharmahuasca, And if you want a fairly low chance of nausea/purging, go the route of vaporized DMT or changa. Smile

Lessons learned to date:

There is a reason syrian rue is traditionally used as a dye. Tripping over a chair (in the clumsy sense, not the psychedelic sense) and accidentally lobbing a jar of it at the wall results in an incredible mess that is reminiscent of arterial spray.

Despite the fact that it took several hours to clean up, this has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen... Smile
