I plan on having my first oral DMT experience using syrian rue and Acacia confusa.

I know that the normal recommended dose of syrian rue for MAO inhibition is 3g. I have used this dose of rue brew alone and in combination with other things many times. It has very little psychoactive effect but also almost no side effects for me.

From what I've read, higher doses of the MAOI in the anahuasca brew are more profound. Traditional brews are usually much heavier in the MAOI department also.

I've seen some anahuasca recipes calling for 10g of syrian rue. I have taken a brew of this dose on its own three times. The effects were strong but the side effects were strong as well with major nausea, vertigo, motion sickness, weakness, malaise, etc. I vomited two of the times I tried 10g and was essentially incapacitated for most of the duration.

I want to have the most profound trip possible and I want to take the brew in the woods and hike around while I'm there. I'm wondering if the side effects from 10g of rue will be too much for me to do this.

Or will the addition of the DMT decrease the side effects of the syrian rue?

First try 5 grams of syrian rue alone.

Then try 6 (twice the reccomended dosage already!) grams alone if 5 grams is not what you're looking for. These beta-carbolines actually can be very profound, but you don't want to over do it. Trust me, you don't want to feel like you're being turned into sand from the inside out.

Try these higher doses alone first because the addition of DMT adds an extra psychological element that can really f%*&k you over if you're not careful.

IME when working with 95% harmala freebase, the difference between 21 to 25 milligrams to 27 milligrams to 30 is very marked.

10 grams = waaaay too much imho. I've never gone past 5 grams, 4 to 5 grams should be a full on Rue dose.

Adding Magic to that much rue will most probably destroy you, which could be funTwisted Evil

I wouldnt want to play in the woods with that much rue in me.

I've tried 5g alone a few times as well. And I've only ever done this dose in the woods, so I know I would be able to function relatively well.

I've never tried anything between 5g and 10g. I'm pretty sure 6g would be okay for me. At this point I'm leaning towards 5g, but I might do 6g if I decide against the 10g.

I know that the DMT will make it much more psychologically intense, but I'm not too worried about that. I've tripped really hard in the woods on other stuff many times. I'm more worried about my ability to physically function in the woods.

If I wouldn't be able to function, then I might as well just stay at home laying in bed in the dark. I'm dead set on taking the brew in the woods for my first time, but 10g of syrian rue with the Acacia will definitely be an experiment for the future, as I definitely enjoy the idea of being destroyed Big grin.

If you enjoy rue by itself, try 3-5g combined with 4-5 tablespoons of cocoa. Pure bitter 'cooking' cocoa not hot chocolate, and half a cup of hot water tops. Totally enhanced the experience.
