I have long been inspired to work with UV lights and paints. I have some UV paints and I've been meaning to buy a UV-light, but have kept putting it off. Now I'm re-inspired to get off my ass and buy me a UV light and some more UV paint really soon. Thank your friend for the inspiration!

Hey dude, no worries at all, good to hear you are inspired! I definitely want to look into UV art more. I just saw my two friends who set this site up at the weekend...recently I have been cooking with Syrian rue, and I also have recently come to posses a UV torch, so when it was dark I thought I'd use and see if there was any evidence of my working with the rue in the kitchen...it turns out a vast proportion of the kitchen worktops and the floor were plastered with extremely vivid yellow and orange under UV, from the beta-carbolines, was impressive!! Interesting that Syrian rue is perhaps linked to the flying carpet myth, and has been long used to dye rugs red. Seems to me like it could make a great au natural, visionary, UV paint source.

Cool stuff but many of the "originals" looks like Luke Brown copy cats...
Maybe just a similar style, or how I am looking at it.

Hey dude, I definitely noticed that, one of the pieces for example has definitely used the Luke Brown piece 'Alpha Centauri' as reference! Not cool, but this isn't down to my friends who own the site, but the artists on there whose work they are hosting, I will be sure to bring this up next time we talk.

theres some Pablo Amaringo in there as well, and a piece by a Nexian.

but this could be legit if they have replication rights or whatever you need to have to reproduce people work.

Hmmm this really isn't cool and is news to me. I'll be sure to drop these people a line...I know them both well and intentionally ripping people off really isn't the kind of behaviour I would expect off them or any of my friends. At least this has been brought to light.

i really like some of their work and was even kinda inspired but how can they call "centering Consciousness " original Art , when its a total rip of Luke Brown's work

why have they done this to purges ?

as far as i know in the long run the Artist who copies Art forgets all about Art , how this happens is easy - " karmic reactions "

They only represent other artists on the site, none is their own work or claimed to be...I find it really hard to believe that these guys would willingly set out to deliberately exploit people and rip them off, so I'm not sure what has happened here and whether the fault lies with other people, but I have messaged one of the guys a link to this thread with the request they look at this to find out exactly what is going on here.

Hi y'all, this is a message I got back from my friend who runs the site when I pointed out this thread and peoples very understandable concerns with artwork being stolen. This wasn't due to the actions of the guys who run the site but the artists they represent. Really not cool, I think stealing anything of anyone is an incredibly lowly act but at least this has been brought to light.

Well this is embarrassing. Thank you Bancopuma for helping us promote our new website, we are deeply sorry if your chivalry has had a backlash to your reputation in regard to current revelations.

We set up UV Visions to help promote ultra violet environments, for relaxation, meditation, and colour therapy. We have designed a few outdoor events and collected a group of painters who love to work in this medium.

As an art agency we contract artists to paint using themes or key words and we also sell, for commission, artists' work painted in UV. Our launching collection displayed on our website was painted, we thought, from the minds of the people we work with…to double check we use an image checking software to see if these images already exist…if they do not show we assume that they are original. It has never been or never will be our intention to take credit for artistic talent, one of the few respites from modern bureaucratic drudgery.

We have now removed all pictures that have been mentioned to belong to other artists and are in the process of contacting them to see if they would be happy for us to sell their work as an agent.

If you recognise ANY paintings as yours, please contact us directly here: harry@uvvisions.com, so we can discuss a suitable outcome, whether that be: recognition, removal and/or royalties. Also if you spot other pieces in our collection that you think have been appropriated please, if you would, point them out to us.

We currently work with 27 different artists and it is necessary for us to wheedle out the ones that copy others work, so thank-you for helping us.

We are always looking for talented people who paint or wish to paint in the ultraviolet spectrum. Contact us to discuss the terms and conditions to establish a fruitful collaboration . We are looking for creative people to support and work with and in the future will be growing into the physical realm to promote this beautiful art scene.

Once again we deeply regret this embarrassing oversight, I hope no offense has been caused.

Although our first introduction has been one of distrust we hope to grow into a professional and honest company that really works in the interest of artistic promotion not in terms of revenue.

They already have prints, cards and copied/altered versions of this art
