If you have not seen then you should because this documentary is moving, passionate, mind-opening, and overall a joy to watch. Shamans of the Amazon takes a deeper look into Ayahuasca use and the struggles of an indigenous peoples and world advocates that grow and use the plant/live the lifestyle.
I've seen this sober and while coming down from 25-i. It's very emotional, uplifting, and sobering, with computer/artist conception visuals of what people see during Ayahuasca journeys and the passion and determination to survive that the local shamans and tribes people exert.
Shamans of the Amazon - A Documentary by Dead Jefferys
"Shamans of the Amazon is a personal account of Film-maker Dean Jefferys returning to the Amazon with his partner and one year old daughter. They journey deep into the heart of the Ecuadorian rainforest to meet two Amazon Shamans, to learn about and experience the ancient ayahuasca ritual. The film will also show how this hallucinogenic ritual is being adapted and used in western cultures."
