hello everyone im new to the community and the ayahuasca experience, i had some attempts with caapi and chali in the past but i was left only with Dud brew's and no effects at all,
so yesterday i try 2 gr of syrian rue that i got my hands on, and 5 gr of chali,
(for the rue)
i grind the rue ( as much as i could with a mortal and pestle) i did a full 2 x 30 minutes boil with one tablespoon of vinegar, i didn't filter the brew only after the reduction, to be sure that i didn't filter out any useful components,
(for the chali )
i took 5gr of chali (i intended to drink half the brew 2.5gr and if it wasn't enough the other half) i put the leafs in a blender and i grind it, after i put them in the pot with again 1 tbs of vinegar and i did 2x30 minutes full boil, the brew had a dark reddish - brown color, again i filter the brew only after the reduction,
i first drank the rue, after 30 minutes i drank half the chali, i wasn't feeling anything at the moment, but after exactly 1 hour i started to feel little strange, so i said something is working this time so i drink the other half of the chali, As the minutes was passing by, i started to feel a little dizzy and little sleepy, my body was having some mild vibration just like the times im experiencing lucid dreaming or sleep paralysis, and i was feeling very sleepy so i laid down. then i started to have those annoying dreams which you have some times when you can't sleep but you still see them whilst you are awake. Anyway that continued for another 2 hours, after that i get out of the bed but i still was feeling that disorientation, but i had no vision at all.. nothing not a single change in the perception of reality,
i dont know what went wrong, at fist i thought that the 2gr of rue wasn't enough and i needed 3 gr and above, but correctly if im wrong but that body load and disorientation isn't the effects of MAO I ? i was feeling the rue in my system but the dmt from chali was absent maybe it was a bad batch. What do you suggest should i try 10gr of chali and 3 gr of rue when my next order arrive ? or i have done something wrong in the preparation of the chali

Hey dude welcome to the Nexus. I'm also experimenting with rue and chaliponga, my brews haven't met with success yet but I've only brewed the one time recently. This is a thread worth checking out though for your questions, and has guidelines I'm following for brewing. It sounds like your rue dose is too low for full MAO inhibition though, and those visuals your describe sound like classic symptoms of harmala intoxication without any presence from the chaliponga. https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=49039

Have you worked with rue before? Sometimes thats to small a dose for some people. I usually make around 3-4 grams myself drink half, wait and see how i feel, and maybe drink the other half.
I usually do 4 x 1hours boils but that probably unnecessary. 5grams chaliponga usually gets me off pretty strongly.

^^This is good to know as I left my seeds whole to make filtering easier, and didn't think powdering them was necessary to extract the alkaloids. I did 3x 1hr boils, although the first boil was for longer I think, I just hope it was enough. I have some full spectrum rue extract I plan on taking a bit before hand as a safeguard and did use a little extra rue seed on account of them being whole.

i actually got my times wrong, this is what i foundhowever I guess the amount of water used will also be a factor, I will measure the pan tonight. INHALE, SURVIVE, ADAPT it's all in your mind, but what's your mind??? fool of the year

That's good to know. My second time brewing with rue and chaliponga I was more precise in the quantities of water used, so fingers crossed, may sample some this eve.

For the rue if it is powder you don't need more than 5-10 minutes at FULL BOIL, the long cooking times its a misunderstanding from the preparation of caapi, caapi is wood so it need a lot of time to extracted whilst rue when is powder !! ( you need to grind it ) it doesn't need more than 5-10 minutes... its like you are trying to make coffee, you need to boil it for 1-3 hours but you must grind it fist, the same is as rue, this is the trick. the first extraction i did, i powdered it at i let it boil for 30 minutes, when i change the water for another wash, i notice that the color of the water didn't charge which means that all the extraction took place in the fist wash. and as you can see i had a MAO I effect with only 2gr.
so my advice which i will also do for my next extraction. powder the rue with a mortal and pestle, let it boil for 30 minutes just to be sure, ( i know that is hard to believe that it need only 5 minutes so let it for 30 to see that if im correct) For the challi grind the leaf as much as you can, if you have a blender it will do the work. and let it boil with a fair amount of vinegar for 2-3 washes (30 minutes) if you see that in the 3rd wash, the water don't change color after the first 5 minutes, take it of there is no need for more.. i usually get a redish-brown color during the two washes but usually nothing in the third so i skip it.
'' And remember you must NOT filter the chali, like you do with caapi( cotton t shirt etc) this will indicative the brew, just strain it and you will be ok ''

it depends on the amount of rue you are brewing, id be surprised if you could extract all the goodies from a kg of rue with a 30min boil. INHALE, SURVIVE, ADAPT it's all in your mind, but what's your mind??? fool of the year
