south american mythology: book recomendations Options

I enjoy reading books about mythology. The book I currently have on south American myths is disappointing. Culturally biased sources from the 1500's are cited, frequently, lots of Incan Eldorado stuff, not what I'm looking for. I want one of them fun collections, like you get for the Greek and Norse myths, and plenty of others besides. I just want one centered in the amazonian region.


Any suggestions?

Giorgio Samorini has a very interesting book on traditional mythology related to entheogens.. Not sure if it is in english version though, I read it in spanish.
