Hi there DMT Nexus. I am a psycho/intronaut looking to talk and share with others. I have nothing less than the utmost respect for psychedelic substances, especially natural ones, and DMT I often hold in high regard. Growing up, kids around me only wanted to "trip the hell out/get messed up" when it came to psychedelics, and that always urked me. Mostly because they hardly ever knew of these substance's potential and sacred quality. Good thing I'm not one of those guys Very happy. These natural compounds are the world's own special way of telling us that there's more under the surface. Let's respect it's messengers huh?

I am experienced and well-versed in the psych realm, I've even personally interviewed Dr. Rick Strassman. Besides all that, I have a great fondness for music, literature, philosophy, and art. I am currently studying (though far away from achieving) for a PhD in astrophysics. I look forward to contributing, sharing, and being accepted into the community.

Also, a question. I see people have posted trip reports about their DMT experiences, are you allowed to post reports of non-DMT experiences? I greatly enjoy sharing my experiences with others.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

Hi, Astra. I believe you can discuss other substances, as long as you stay away from "source talk," like where you obtain material, etc. There are parts of the forum that deal specifically with substances other than dmt, though you won't have access to everything until you become a "full member." I'm in the same boat! (noob, as well). Anyway, Welcome to the Nexus

Hello Astra,

Welcome to the Nexus. Thank you so much for taking the time to write and share an Introduction Essay with us.

I feel the same way about plant and also chemical entheogens as you and am sure the majority of folks here do too. But, I also do not condemn a purely hedonistic stance out of hand - I was one of those kids 25 years ago who just wanted to take acid to PAAARRRTTTY! Embarrased. As I'm sure you are aware, psychedelic drugs seem to have a self-correcting or self-regulating/limiting factor about them. They speak loudly and at times carry a big stick so to speak, Razz.

I'd encourage you to take a good look around this place and it's many sub-fora. As a New Member you are restricted in where you can post but you can check out trip reports for LSD, Cactus, Mushrooms, Other Psychoactives, etc. in the respective sub-forums.

As a New Member you may post trip reports in First Steps in Hyperspace, even if they aren't first, Very happy. You may also report trip and other experiences or anything you wish to discuss in the Welcome Discussion area.

I hope you like what you see and become an active member. Again, welcome to the Nexus.

Thanks. And don't get me wrong, I've delved into the psychedelic world many a time for pure recreation, the thing that grinds my gears are people who show no respect whatsoever. I've heard kids say things like: "I want to get so F'd up at this party, I could take a half ounce of mushrooms to my FACE". I have both a recreational and shamanic state of mind concerning psychs, and have used them for self-exploration as well as simply having a fun time/experience, but always exercise respect.

I have a trip report of an LSD experience saved on my computer, I'll have to post it. It's an example of simply wanting a fun acid time, but turned into something much more.

Astra,

I think I understood you. And yeah, I find those folks to be very disturbing also, being a person who has a strong orientation towards harm reduction.

I just want to say I think the more you interact with this community the more you will find that we are the polar opposite of those kinds of attitudes. It's all about research, plant knowledge, personal insight and growth, community and having some fun along the way here.

You might want to take some time to click on and read the entire text of the Attitude link above. I think you will really really like what you see. It's taken awhile to get to this point but the Owner/Administrator of this site and his staff have worked hard for a long time to get us to this place and maintain a very high degree of integrity and adult style of interaction along the way.
