I have a 10mil syringe of Golden Teacher spores In my fridge since June this year.I plan on ordering a mushroom grow kit for my first attempt at this.I know its much more inexpensive to make the cakes myself although for this first attempt I will just buy the kit.I hope the syringe will be ok,i was told to keep it in my fridge and use It by 6 months and leave it out of he fridge 24 ours prior to inoculation and give it a good shake. My understanding is that I should keep everything clean and sterilize the needle with a flame before use to ensure cultivation. The kit does come with instructions and a humidity dome along with gloves face mask and sterilized cakes. Is there anything else I should know before I start this grow? ps...Is there a setting on the forum where I can be sent email alerts when a post is made to a thread? Also do I need to have a certain number of posts before I can post a new topic on any Forum? If the truth can be told so as to be understood it will be believed

Hello Alank, I was just wondering what kind of kit you are getting? I ask because normally you don't need to inoculate anything with the grow kits. Everything is ready and you only need to activate it by adding water to it. In my opinion you won't be needing any spore syringe and from what I know a spore syringe can only be kept in the fridge for 2-3 months. You can get alerts from a post by clicking on the options button on the right of the first post in that thread and click "watch this topic". As for you last question check the Welcome new members announcement. Hi Elpo I think in the UK spores and kits are sold separately.I bought a spore syringe from an ebay seller with a good rep and they said I can order the rice cakes separate from another ebayer, un inoculated as that's the law here. They also told me 6 months was ok for the syringe so I hope they are right.,thanks If the truth can be told so as to be understood it will be believed

Ok, in that case yes, keep everything as sterilized as possible. Even the environment you'll be working in. Sterilize the needle after each inoculation just to be sure. Good luck with your cultivation. I have no idea, I have never used a microscope. Maybe you can try making a new topic about this or try searching the forum for this. I assume you're going to be trying PF jars? I actually just had a nice successful harvest recently. I wouldn't personally go with a grow kit simply because it is too expensive and growing is too simple! Shoot me a PM and I would be more than happy to help you out if you want.
