That looks to be about the size of half a packet of smokes..

A severely funky shade of green too.. Reminds me of a a large cicada shell I once saw but it was nowhere near as alien looking as that thing Shocked

Its actually only the size of a thumbnail Smile
I love the golden-green of its body it has a very metalic tone.
That and its head is so alien! No idea what part of its head is what! Apart from the eyes that is.
It seemed to be frozen in that odd lop- sided pose but would wiggle its legs now and again Very happy

Those Coleopterans sure have some funky heads! This guy appears to be in the scarab family- they tend to have the craziest headgear.

Amazing pearlescence! Do you suppose a good pearlescent green paint could be made by crushing those
exoskeletons and mixing them into a paintmedium like flaxseed oil? Or would the color & pearlescence
degrade quickly in the presence of air, heat and light?

On a cool shiny green beetle tangent, this is one of many, many weird and wonderful things I encountered out in Vietnam. Such an incredible diversity of form and colour with the insects, I dig their vibe.

Great photo you captured the colour so much better than my dodgey phone camera.
Such cool interesting creatures its no surprise someone was inspired enough to design a car based on their look and vibe.
