Cool! If all goes according to plan, SWIM should have specimens to compare later this week... he just needs a day off work. SWIM imagines it will be helpful to have photos to compare.

So these are the acetate? I assume so. SWIM will have to give this a try, if so. The is pretty easy to wash with acetone?

No, they are hcl. Yes the acetone wash is very easy. Just add the acetone to the mescaline hcl and then decant it off. The other cactus alkaloids and oils are soluble in the acetone but the mescaline hcl isn't. Avatar art created by unknown Cambodian or Laotian. Everything else is fiction.

Yeah, SWIM should've known. After SWIM plays around with the acetate for a while, he'll probably try precipitating mescaline HCl. He's got some ideas about how to do it without the use of water and plenty of HCl on hand.
